I started this group in Septmber 2003 when my doctor told me the very same thing. Now? I am NO LONGER ON PREDNISONE and neb only once or twice a day. I used to be on the whole gaumt and was nebbing at least 5-6 times a day with not much relief. It took me a full year for the Xolair to start working. For some people, it takes effect almost right away; some just a few months. My first advice to you is to be patient and to trust your doctors treatment plan and advice As a new member, you might want to look through previous posts. Most questions have been covered. I am type II Diabetic too. I was just diagnosed in September of 2005. I have lost 35 pounds and am doing great. My last A1C was just 5.5. Xolar has a good indirect effect on your blood sugar. Once it has started working you will taper down your use of Prednisone or as we call it here " The Evil Candy. " Pred is an enemy to your blood sugar levels. Once you are off the evil candy, your blood sugar will be much more easy to control. Guest guest
, Welcome to the group. Xolair has drastically improved the quality of my life. I think it is my magic bullet. Does it mean I never have symptoms? No, but I can't remember the last time I used my nebulizer. I have gone from having monthly upper resp infections brought on by severe allergic episodes to having about 3 a year. No more swollen, puffy face from sinus infections or pred. Good luck, let us know how you do.... Addy --- In , Weiner <allen_weiner@...> wrote: > > I joined this group because, after my IGE blood work, my doctor wants me to try Xolair. Guest guest
Welcome to the group , good bunch of people here with a lot of information and various experiences to draw from. I hope your insurance interaction is not to painful, do not get discouraged. I have been on Xoliar for just over a year and although I have slowly but progressively gotten better, I feel I am just now starting to reap the full benefits. I was told it could take awhile so I plodded on , a believer in the experience's of others, and I am glad I did. Addy, You mentioned several upper respiratory infections, I have just been hospitalized with two in succession. When you get yours are they just treated with Antibiotics, do they require hospitalization, have you been offered any preventive advice. My Singular also says a side effect can be upper respiratory infections ????. My Dr seems to think my " stuff " is just asthma stuff I am going to have to live with, then tells me, " thank goodness for Xoliar " , with a caveat that I have run my last marathon. (what does he know, I've never run a marathon! LOL) Ron On Apr 17, 2006, at 5:53 PM, pyle456 wrote: > , > > Welcome to the group. Xolair has drastically improved the quality > of my life. Guest guest
Hey : Welcome to the group. I have just taken one shot of xolair, so it is rather soon for any impact for me. My next shot is this week. But I am pretty optimistic. What has been of immediate help is this group. The moral support, the information and the sense of humor of people in this group has been awesome... - niti > > > > I joined this group because, after my IGE blood work, my doctor > wants me to try Xolair.
