Guest guest
hello, The other day I got a large manila packet in the mail. It contained information about DOCS. Doctors of the Southern Oregon Coast. I called them to see what it was about and how I would be affected. The gal said my doctor who works with our health department was included in DOCS so I would not have to change doctors. I asked her for the phone number so I could give it to my doctor to call in case she didn't have it. The gal said DOCS had just had a meeting there in the town my doctor works and so she would have gone to the meeting and have all the necessary info. She would not give me the phone number. I, myself, had jumped the gun and had not looked for a phone number but since this gal wouldn 't give me the phone number I quickly thumbed through the pamphlet and found some phone numbers and verified with this gal the correct phone number. I did not like the fact she would not give me the number. I thought that was strange and like I was taking up her time. I also told this gal that I liked my current doctor and had been with her for many years and I felt comfortable with her. The gal said I would be able to keep my doctor, who works for the Health Department in that county as long as they got something accomplished within a certain time frame. I was looking online about it and it seems the time line ends in June. I hope they get everything straighted out by then or I might have to change. I called the receptionist at the health department where I go to see my doctor, she knows me by name, and she didn't sound too happy with this change. Now I am all worried. I guess I am now getting the actual taste of what they are calling managed care. I am feeling controlled. If my doctor's office, the Health Department doesn't do what DOCS wants them to do then I won't be able to see my favorite doctor (fnp). Sounds like they have to sign a contract or something? Under the managed care system there is DOCS and something else. DOCS is Doctors Oregon Coast Southern. I also can't get Physical Therapy because Oregon Health Plan Plus won't pay for it. ?? I can't get epidurals because they are above the line that Oregon Health Plan Plus will pay for. ?? Helppppp Anyone else experiencing this stuff? Something isn't right here. ya think? input appreciated, educate me please thanks and hugs, Coleen
