Mark,

Like you mention a Laminectomy might to the trick for now, but eventually you

will end up needing a fusion anyways, the Lami will buy you some time if you

can't afford to do a fusion right now. If you have to have a multi-level fusion,

there is NO way that you are going to be back to work in 3 months, that won't

happen! My GF had a 2 level lumbar fusion and hers was succesful, she was out of

work for 5 months, and even then she was put on light duty.

You need to weight your options and think of what's best for you. What good

would be to have a fusion or a Laminectomy if you are not going to follow the

recovery program? It would put you back on square one or even worse.

There are a lot of things for you to think about. Take care and I hope that you

can get some concrete answers soon.

laminectomy at multiple levels - probably as many as 5 or 6 (T11 to L5 or

more).  I am wondering from those who are nurses and/or have had this

procedure what can I expect fror recovery after this surgery and how long is it

painful, etc?  THANKS in advance.  mark
