Debra....I don't have any answers for you....I'm too new at this....but I'm sure there are people on the list with lots more info...

How long have you had hep c? I am now waitting for the results of my first liver biopsy....still in the learning process. I would tend to think it's time for you to call your doctor....your hemoglobin may be low and needing medication to bring it back up.....love...judy

I can hardly get out of bed and am extremely exhausted andthe joint/nerve pain is really hard. Then after a couple of weeks it goesaway and I am ok again. I have been under an extreme amount of stress thelast 10 months and am so surprised this did not happen sooner this time. Iam a single parent with a special needs child and this is so hard when ithappens. I tried the treatment and am one the FDA has on file as having alife threatening reaction. I take msm which helps a lot with the jointpain. I was taking dandelion and milk thistle. The dandelion made mebruise so I am going to go back to just the milk thistle.Debra angel in Alaska

I wish I could help with more than words but words are all I have. I know that God gives us only as much as we can handle so I have been told over and over again. The most important thing is you are protecting your daughter in the best way you know how. The illness is hard on people and when they have stressful thing happen it make it worse but we are strong people. Remember that life gets hard when we stop talking to people so keep talking. What do you think about apply for SSI? I know other have applied for it because they have HepC and are taking treatment. If you do that then the Medicare will take care of the medicinal bills. Just a suggestion. Hang in there and give your daughter a hug and kiss.

I have had hep c since a blood transfusion in 89 but did not know I had it until 97. I can not go to the dr as I am losing my health insurance in a few days. The terrible stress I talked about was my husband sexually abused my girls. There was physical evidence and he admitted to most on a wire tap. He is in jail but has made my life extremely difficult. He filed for divorce knowing how badly I needed the health insurance. It has taken months of praying and conversations with God where I feel like I am going to be ok without the insurance. I still slide back a lot and get really really scared. My family supports him so that is not of help. I have someone to help some with my daughter but they are looking for someone also for the hours we are supposed to have as she is covered with a Medicaid waiver. My older daughter helps some when I just can't do it. I only do that as a last resort as they do not get along at all. I am not able to work full time because of this as my daughter only sleeps through the night a couple of nights a week. So I am continuing to pray the work situation I have will hold (I work for 2 places from home for 30 hours a week) so sometimes I can just work at home and get away with feeling yucky. This week I am only working with families today so I can conserve my strength. Any suggestions you all have is much appreciated.

I work for a pregnancy crisis and support center.

I see women all the time coming in for material

support as well as spiritual uplifting. We are a

Christian Center. They are able to get medical

support through SSI. There is a girl that comes

in here that has tryed to committ suicide twice.

She really screwed up her hand the last time and

she has had repeated surgeries on it. She is

living on a Government grant for further

schooling plus she has applied for SSI. This is

something she did to herself. Getting Hep C

isn't what you wanted to do. You don't need to

live with the stress of two jobs and no

insurance. You need continuing medical care. I

have hep C also but don't know how I got it. The

only time I remember coming in contact with much

blood is over 30 years ago when I was involved

with helping with a very bloody car accident in

from of my uncle's house in backwoods Montana.

Right now it seems to be in remission. I believe

prayers had a lot to do with it. If you would

like to talk to me direct, my e-mail is edajane@...

Glad to hear your son is doing ok. I hope he is able to continue doing ok

and not faced with any flares.

It is tough to ache and feel lousy when most kids (young adults) are feeling

full of energy and ready to go all day and all night. Thankfully Adrienne has

the most wonderful friends ever. They understand her, and support her, and

let her sleep weird hours. :)

In our immediate family, only Adrienne has arthritis. But her cousin, who

is the same age(two weeks younger) as her developed a serious case of Chrons

when he was a junior in high school. He is in college now and everything is

under control...today.

What sort of activities is your son taking part? What kind of diet is he

eating? Is he doing anything 'special' to keep the symptoms to a minimum? Or

is

that just how it is right now?

Thank you again for writing! I am looking forward to getting to know you

Debra, good for you defending your kids against school administrators! I

remember when I was 11, I had had severe achilles tendonitis for a year, so

the doctor wrote a note excusing me from soccer practice. The

vice-principal was a real witch and said, " Don't think you can use that as a

permanent excuse, Janet! " We never forget these things. I think every

child with arthritis seems to be mistreated by adults at some point,

particularly school personnel. The Arthritis Foundation needs to do more

about this. They do have a big pediatric arthritis thing going on with

establishing pediatric arthritis research centers, but they need to do more

about the psychosocial stuff, and especially discrimination and mistreatment

by education " professionals. " It is really wrong the way children with

arthritis are treated! I am really glad to hear about moms like you and

Adrienne's mom. I didn't have a strong advocate like that. It's good moms

do that nowadays (or at least some).

God Bless,

Yes it would be cervical fusion,

My problem is widespread-- from C1- C7 ---- upper neck.

I am a vocalist and they go into the neck and there is a 4%chancece of my vocal

chords being stretched.

Singing in one of my main foci and I cant compromise that.

Thsteroidsds truly work for about 3 weeks  and I love them.

Thank you foyouror interest. I am alone in the woods of Florida and reallwillll

have to be shattered before I consider the surgery.

Ann,

Yes my friend had the surgery (anterior) and was hoarse for a week or two.

Is there a chance that you can have the surgery posterior? If it were me and

I needed the surgery I would want an ENT there as well.

I hope you are feeling better.....pain meds kept me from having to have

surgery for 10 years.

Debra,

I am taking at least 30 mg of Lorcette each day for about a year now.

The muscle relaxers never did an thing but make me sleep.

I may put off the surgery myself and thank you for the valuable information.

Debra,

I am taking at least 30 mg of Lorcette each day for about a year now.

The muscle relaxers never did an thing but make me sleep.

I may put off the surgery myself and thank you for the valuable information.
