Guest guest Posted January 6, 2006 Report Share Posted January 6, 2006 I remember my first Xolair shots over 2 years ago. I was the first asthmatic in the state of Arkansas to receive Xolair. I remember the nurse saying: " Man, this stuff is so thick, it's like pushing clear paste through this small needle " 2 years ago, i was on 50 mg of pred a day, nebbing with pulmicort, xopenex and atrovent 4 times a day or more and Advair 50/500 twice daily. The pred had caused me to become type II diabetic and I was a nervous wreck. Now: NO PREDNISONE! I neb with Xopenex and atrovent maybe 2 times a day and am still on Advair. Some days, I don't need to neb at all. This is strange for me, because my asthma is not just bad attack every now and then, I have it all day, every day. Now I'm just paranoid about taking any new medicine. Glad the shot didn't hurt. Guest guest Posted December 5, 2009 Report Share Posted December 5, 2009 I had to always bring both Epis and show the nurse before I got my shot. No Epi=no shot. I also had to stay the whole 2 hours. I have anaphylaxis anyway, so I always have them on me. You should ask your doctor how long he thinks you should have the Epis with you after the shot.
