A study (review) of the original study was done by a group of oncologists from

MD cancer center. They concluded that the cancers that were found had

been due to other risk factors. The cancers were of all different types. I

believe if Xolair was going to cause cancer, it would be just one type. In the

chemical make up of xolair, it doesn't make sense that it would cause cancer

though. It only blocks the recepter site on the IgE. It doesn't do anything

else. Since you'd be getting paid to participate and the drug is free, seems

like a win/win situation to me! I wish I had been offered that! Besides, if

any type of cancer is found, early detection is the key to iradicate it.

Sharon, you are right. In the first clinical trials the question was not asked

if anyone had predisposition, family history or was having actually testing for

cancer. The percentage of patients diagnosed after the trials with cancer are

the same as the general public going to their own physicians. So, there is no

real worry about cancer from Xolair.
