Guest guest
Hi guys.,...here is more info from my friend Dave: >>>On the MRI the disc is smaller due to a rupture and the anulus crap is leaking out. I was thinking ... after the operation will it keep leaking ? Guest guest
>No, I won't be leaking after surgery. The remove the disc that is damaged >and leaking and its not like a leaking faucet kind of thin watery leaking >or a leaking of blood of spinal fluid. The anulus is a very thick >material like a thick silicone sort of. It bulges out when it is leaking >and presses on nerve roots or spinal cord, blocks flow of CSF, stuff like >that. The disc is like a waterbed mattress that is filled with a thick >gel like substance. It can only go so far being compressed and distorted >until the outer walls of the waterbed mattress rupture and the gel leaks >out. Make sense at all? >> LOL Well, no...but it sure makes me miss my waterbed! ROFL I sent it along to him....bless his heart. He said that as long as he doesn't set it is not too bad. Now to me, that sounds strange. *I* thought that if it were your neck prob, setting wouldn't be that big of a deal. I thought setting probs were related to lumbar probs.....but hey, what the heck do I know! <G> I told him to quit trying to be so macho & take the pain pills they had given him! I asked him if he had gotten a copy of his MRI report....and if he didn't, GET it! <G> I'll forward on anything else he sends me. Thanks dear!
