Guest guest
Connie - Your daughter would like the animated movie called " Spirited Away. " It's made by the most famous Japanese director, Hayao Miyazaki, the Spielberg of Japan. You have to trust me on this one, but I'm betting she will. joe
Guest guest
Is it a new release out or is it already on video? I'll check it out, thanks! And I do trust you completely, she still surprises me sometimes but the variety of things she likes, some that you'd never guess, amazes me sometimes. Here's an example... in the grocery store, she ASKS for fruit or vegies.. and ignores the candy aisle. I'm always tossing Easter or Halloween candy. Last Halloween she got really sick, but before that she was out for about an hour, got a LOT of candy. I threw out more than 3/4 of it just before Christmas. She did eat some, and has a sweet tooth sometimes, but she's always been that way. I'm glad b/c I'm such a picky eater and I don't eat many veggies or fruits myself. I pushed myself when I was pregnant to eat peaches.. tho it had to be baby food peaches (all natural) and other fruits b/c I just couldnt look at reg. fruit, even the fruit I do like b/c it just made me queezy. I even ate baby food plums and I Hate plums, but wanted her to have it. Yes I am Weird ok??? LOL Jk Connie Re: Movies... > Connie - > > Your daughter would like the animated movie called > " Spirited Away. Guest guest
- I'm looking forward to seeing " Charlie's Angels " with a buddy who is moving with his wife to Florida in a couple of weeks. His wife has had 2 surgeries at L4-5 and is now pregnant and will be having a fusion after she gives birth. So, which Angel do you look like? Lucy Liu, Cameron , or Drew Barrymore? Or do you look more like Demi ? Have you told your husband you're leaving him yet? LOL joe

Guest guest
I loved that one, seemed so much better than Two Weeks Notice, which was good but I don't think As good as Maid Re: Movies... > > > My 15 yr old went to see Hulk tonight and she wasnt crazy about it..Her > friend said it was too much talking..Dont know what that means though.. > But everyone has there own thoughts about movies. > We rented break away last night,. that was good. Guest guest
Wow can her back handle the pregancy ok Joe? Tho I'm single I still have hopes of someday meeting someone and having more kids, but with my pain dont know how I could tolerate the pain (b/c I would not take any pain meds) with the weight gain. She sounds amazing and strong, going thru 2 surgeries and facing a fusion after the birth of the baby. Is she in a lot of pain now wiht her back? If you don't know all the answers I understand, like I said I still want more if possible and have no doubts about it, just scared at the pain I'd be facing and more than likely, bed-bound (hush again lol) Connie Re: Movies... > - > > I'm looking forward to seeing " Charlie's Angels " with a buddy > who is moving with his wife to Florida in a couple of weeks. > His wife has had 2 surgeries at L4-5 and is now pregnant and > will be having a fusion after she gives birth. > > So, which Angel do you look like? Guest guest
- It was bad, she was on medical leave and both she and her husband were laid off from Nortel. He was let go while she was on med leave and as soon as she got back, she was going to be let go as well. It wasn't just them, a lot of good people had been let go. I couldn't even help them with the pull I had. I thought my friend had a lot of guts pulling up stakes and moving to Florida without having jobs, but have since learned his wife's parents live in the area. They both plan to go to work in the adminstrative wing of the Publix grocery chain. (Floridians and us ex-Floridians will know this common chain) Hey , shoot me a pic so I can tell you who you look like. You better start preparing your husband for the bad news. joe
Guest guest
Hugh Grant (think thats his name) and Bullock.. the two movies came out around the same time if I remember correctly Re: Movies... > > > > > > My 15 yr old went to see Hulk tonight and she wasnt crazy about it..Her > > friend said it was too much talking..Dont know what that means though.. > > But everyone has there own thoughts about movies. > > We rented break away last night,. that was good. Guest guest
Now re-reading, sounds like you answered the questions I asked and you're answering to LOL I know of Publix, on my trips to FL that's where we'd shop to stock up on food for the hotel, was fun cooking in the hotel then taking our food out to the beach to eat. Was the first and only time I've stayed at a hotel that was on the beach and still shocked we only paid $85/night, it was summer but still thats so cheap. The cheapest rate at a hotel that's 30 min away from Cedar Points is $85/night! Guest guest
I haven't seen " 8 Mile " or " Maid in Manhattan " yet, but they're still on PPV and there's always next weekend. A few of the movies I've seen in the past weeks are listed below. Besides massages, they are my only splurge. I do pay 17 bucks a month for my internet connection. Bruce Almighty 2 Fast 2 Furious Italian Job Matrix Reloaded X-men II I have a few old time movies that I love to watch every time I catch them on. If you ever see these in the bargain bin, pick them up. I think they are enjoyable. Day the Earth Stood Still (Sci-Fi) When Worlds Collide (Sci-Fi) The Replacements (Comedy) The Fifth Element (Sci-Fi, Comedy, Action) My Best Friend is a Vampire (Comedy, Action) Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure (Comedy with a message) Kung Pow: Enter the Fist (Bust your sides comedy!) Give them a look, tell me what you think. Joe

The NS she sees here in NC only fuses on the third date. So I'm assuming she herniated a 2nd time. I really think she should consider ADR. I'm not going to get my Lumbar fused unless agrees to leave her husband and come down here with me! LOL. All I could say when he told me she was pregnant was " please make sure that no matter what happens, you keep her on some kind of medical insurance no matter what it costs. Guest guest
I havent seen 8 Mile but have wanted to, what's your take on how that was? > I haven't seen " 8 Mile " or " Maid in Manhattan " yet Connie's answers.... > Bruce Almighty (still have to see) > 2 Fast 2 Furious (another still have to see) > Italian Job (havent heard of that one I dont think) > Matrix Reloaded (have to see yet) > X-men II (haven't seen but will rent first one and 2nd same night so I can follow it, memory probs thanks to meds lol) I really liked Behind Enemy Lines and it was priced wrong at $4.99 at Kmart one day when I went in to get pictures, I grabbed it and told them of the mistake after I had purchased it... hey not my fault they priced it wrong LOL Also got Mission to Mars, had rented that maybe a year ago and they had that marked to $3.99 and got that the same day as Behind Enemy Lines. Took it out of grocery money I buy stuff when I have coupons and what I buy is on sale, if it's a really good deal I stock up a bit. Anyhow, I love buying movies but with money so tight I rarely can, Kaylee pushed me to get these 2 saying I should quit buying for her and get something for me for a change... I thought that was sweet. She also liked Behind Enemy Lines, who knew! Guest guest
Connie - " Mission to Mars " is on my Hits list, too. Left it out. Meds make me stupid. I really thought it was neat. joe
Guest guest
My meds are kickin in too, forgot to add that Kaylee also liked that one. She's into space and science bigtime. She loved Men In Black I & II also. When I had a roommate when I first was put off work, well long story but at the time he told me to not worry about anything, tho I didnt want to get extras he encouraged me to buy a movie if I wanted it.. so, I got into the bargin bins at different stores and really got a lot of movies at that time, well movies for me as Kaylee had a Ton of Disney. Usually for every 2 or 3 for me, I got her one or a computer game or some toy, I couldnt spend money on just myself. Anyhow I have a Huge collection of movies now. Had also joined one of the movie clubs, get 12 free and buy 3 over the next 2 years or whatever, so I got quite a few that way also. I do have 2 vcr's (one is my dads old one) but can't get the sound to work on it when I record, have had a couple ppl check the hookups in case I was missing something, can't explain why when I copy a movie, any videotape, it records the movie but no sound (a tiny bit if you turn up the volume all the way). If I get it figured out I'd be glad to make a copy of Mission to Mars for you, but understand if you're like me and say thanks, but I like to have the original sleeve to the movie...hehehe Then again you may buy DVD. I got a DVD when I got my settlement (disability back pay) but still only buy VHS as the old ones, as I said, I've gotten for $3.99. DVD that old is only a few bucks cheaper than the new releases, so for me its better to go with the cheapest I can. If you like I can see if Kfart by chance has any left at that price, I know other places I've looked it's 6.99, 9.99 tops. I better get to bed, I have pt tomorrow and a lot of calls, #1 being my apt manager.. AC went out tonight about 8pm, glad it waited cause it was hot today! Hopefully they can get someone here tomorrow as it's supposed to be 90. If not I'll just stay in the pool at therapy all day LOL Thanks for the talks everyone, next time maybe we can use an instant messenger, I feel bad about answering every post seperately but was better than one long email.. I do that enough as it is to you all lol Connie Re: Movies... > Connie - > > " Mission to Mars " is on my Hits list, too. Left it out. > Meds make me stupid. Guest guest
Connie, I agree that you have to review why a movie might have rec’d a PG-13 rating & then decide on an individual basis. We’ve let our kids watch an occasional PG-13, even R-rated movies. An R rating on The Good, the Bad, & the Ugly or Dirty Harry is more like today’s PG-13. For PG-13, Waking Ned Devine & X-Men 2 were allowed. The Matrix (#1) we just let them see 2 weeks ago. As for cuss words, we’ve taught out kids there are appropriate times to swear. They’ve also learned that most people swear b/c they lack a sufficient vocabulary to express themselves. Gotta run, we’re off to the Museum of Tolerance! I shouldn’t even have answered this, but my pc has been down for several days & I’d like to say more. I’ll catch up later, cuz my daughter is saying, “Mommmmmmmm!” Movies... , Nope, never heard of either one. Like I had originally said, I was just curious about what Joe thought of it, it is quite different from the tv shows we watched when we were kids and I have no interest in the movie, just thought I'd get his opinion of it since he saw it. I don't think Kaylee's interested in it.. but I will tell ya, I got all the Planet of the Apes movies from the library and we watched them one weekend this past winter, then bought the new movie that came out, and she LOVED it. I was surprised she'd like it, but she has a huge variety of interests that span so far apart, I think it's awesome. Think about it, a 10yr old that will sit and watch a Winnie the Pooh movie or -Kate and movie, then turn around and watch the Planet of the Apes LOL As far as PG-13, if its just swearing that doesn't bother me, she knows not to repeat what she hears, and she hears it from me on occassion (with oops I'm sorry afterwards), so I really don't pay attention to the ratings. If there's nude scenes, no, I won't let her watch that. I'm a huge fan and I let her watch Stepmom which is PG-13 b/c I thought it was a good one for her to see. Brockovich was rated R, since there were no nude scenes I'd say for the language... again I let her watch that b/c I thought it was a good learning experience of how a single mom with 3 kids fought like hell to get a job, then fought for what was right... not for the money, for helping people. These days saying shit or damn is so common it seems that I just taught Kaylee saying it is wrong, and she may hear me say things, she hears worse sometimes in the store... but she knows right from wrong and tho she's only 10, to me if she gets the message behind the story (ie Brockovic h)that's what matters. Nobody is perfect and I sure am not, I just do what I think is best for her. The 2 things she mentioned when we first saw that movie, well I mentioned wow she swears a lot and Kaylee said yeah, and she showed off her boobs a lot! I laughed and said, well, if ya have the body flaunt it, I just don't have the body haha I give her credit tho (the real life ), tho people may not agree with her clothing, that's not what makes a person, what she stood for (and still today stands for) is who she is. I read that obviously this was years ago this all happened, her one daughter was in college, her son got into drugs and trouble... I don't think it's how she raised them (tho I only saw the movie I don't know her personally), the nicest and richest people can have kids that make mistakes... but I don't know any of us that have not made mistakes in our lives. Anyhow that's my opinion on movies and their ratings Connie RE: Joe-Hulk > Connie, > My kids don’t want to see The Hulk because the > trailers show the animated Hulk to look dopey, > “like a great big fat toddler” as my son put it, > plus the PG-13 rating might give you pause.
