Guest guest
Could anyone help me out with some questions, again, please. I had a third opinion yesterday on my cervical stenosis condition. My first opinion was to do a C4-C5 fusion only. The second opinion was to do a three level fusion between C4-C7 and a laminectomy two weeks later. The third opinion recommends the three level fusion but a discectomy rather than a laminectomy. All three agree that I have a very serious spinal cord compression problem that needs to be addressed immediately. I agree and want to proceed immediately but don't know which approach. I am having a myelogram tomorrow. 1) If a laminectomy is done, what covers the whole left by the removed vertebrae? What is the general return to a " desk job " time for a laminectomy. 2) Does the discectomy recommendation imply that the doctor thinks that the compression is coming from the disc instead of the vertebrae? Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks.
