I know this is touchy, but I cant wipe good after going #2 after a

surgery on my back. I even have those flushable wipes, which are

good, but the problem is more of being able to bend and reach that

critical area to wipe than anything. any solutions or ideas??????

, i wish i had a good answer for you, but i was so constipated after the

surgery. But if you do have a hand-held on your shower, that might help. If

nothing else, ask for help. I had to do that a whole lot. I definitely had to

get over the shame of asking. And i needed to ask. Good luck. It will get

better.

, I have the same problem! It is loss of Range Of Motion - tell your doctor

this, because he should expect it (especially after a lumbar/sacral area

fusion).

I have found that I wipe differently - back to front, but also have to rotate my

shoulder forward and down to do the best job possible.

Am wondering how I will talk about this with my 18 year old daughter, when she

has the L5-S1 joint fused in a few weeks. :)

After my surgery on c3-c7, I found my mobility was limited. I went thru a stroke

rehab center for recovery, and they turned me on to a few aids for home...one of

them was a pair of angled tongs to use with toilet paper. I have to use this all

the time now, but it definitely helps, although it's a bit awkward, and quite

embarassing when I travel. Hope this helps.
