But what happens when you have nerve death? Sorry, I'm illiterate when it comes

to spinal stuff.

I want to know all the bad stuff, scary or not. This way I'll be more informed

when I go jump up and down on my

docs desk if I have to.

You can have a leg that is not useful…that you drag…nerve death is when the

nerve fibers no longer function properly…therefore, after beinf compressed for

a period of time they have problems…carpal tunnel does this as well. I had

ulnar nerve damage and when open on the OR table they tested the nerve, no

response to electrical stim….thank goodness the feeling came back but it took

forever…

Sometimes the feeling doesn't come back and it might be a blessing. With damage

to the nerve it can feel numb or on fire.  Dragging one leg isn't good, I have

that in my left leg.  It makes it harder to walk because of having to

consentrate on locking my left knee.  I am so blessed that I can still walk and

keep up.  Once fused we are limited in motion, if we keep in mind our

limitations. Life is good and most of the time without pain.  Keep in mind the

surgent can only do so much for us.  The damage is done and they are only

putting a bandage on it, so it can heal.  Keep the faith and good luck with the

treatment.

I have facet arthropathy and spinal stenosis and neuropathy I have pinched

nerves. I can feel my hands go numb with no sensation. My feet go numb on me, I

had my right shoulder and arm lose sensation, and function. My hands shake when

I get up in the morning, I feel like an alcoholic with the DT's my hands shake

so bad where I cannot even use a screwdriver to simply tighten down a screw.

Having DDD does not help and when I wanted to file for disability years ago lets

just say I was deterred from filing.

 

Since I got diagnosed with spinal neuropathy I have noticed Irreversibile nerve

damage

You have a herniation and a annular tear.not bulging.your doc didn't even

read the entire report..unless your doc is a neuro surg or ortho he probably

couldn't read the MRI films himself...

I have had a cervical fusion and now I have a herniation below where the other

was fused and another one bulging, so I do have a " pinched nerve. " It hurts like

a SOB at times, but if I am careful and let it heal it will go away and come

again later. It causes my neck and shoulder to hurt all the way down to my hand

and certain fingers to go numb when I do things. If I am driving it will make

the fingers go numb. Various things make it go numb. As far as I know it can't

make you have a heart attack or anything like that.

Why is your doctor not sending you to at least physical therapy?

If it were your pancrease you would be in severe pain and would not be able to

eat. You would also have some digestive issues. I have chronic pancreatitis

and have had it for years and need to maintain a special diet.
