Pain Doc, Disability

Saw my pain management doc today, who went over the CT with me. And yes, there

is definitely a problem and based on what I am feeling, is already talking

possible surgery.

He put me on Kadair (sp) which is part of the morphine family, in hopes that

maybe I can stop the other 7 meds. Also ordered 4 more weeks of PT with

mechanical traction only. If the traction doesn't work, I get a referral to a

neurosurgeon.

He asked me what I thought about surgery and I told him I could live with the

neck pain, but I hated these headaches.

Then I went to therapy where she and I discussed what could be on disabilities

minds when they sent the last denial...no mention of the meds or my neck

problems, that my back is being labeled as " discomfort " , that I can go to work

as an EMT, but not a paramedic, and that my 12 months of possible disability is

over May 2004...when I have been fighting this almost 2 years now!

I just don't get it!
