Spine Disorders Support GroupI have taken Lyrica sincde 6/1. I had laminectomy

and a bone spur had caused nerve damage, which was very painful all way down

leg. I still have pain but not as much and I am still numb down into heel. I

was told it could take up to a year for nerve to heal. I only take 75mg 2 times

a day, any more would help but also make me out of my gourd, as a lot of meds do

for me. If you have trouble you may have to decrease amount. This drug is in

same category as neurontin, which I could not take.

Hi

I had an emergency L5/S1 microdiscectomy on November 30th due to severe

nerve pain and incapacity. When I woke from the op I had no nerve

pain / sciatica for the first time in months and was capableof lying on

my back again. I was discharged first thing the next morning and

thought tht was that. All was well apart from a little expected

stiffness for a couple of weeks - I was even declared fit enough to

drive after 14 days but then, even though I was not doing anything

strenuous or particularly active other than walking, I started to get

backache in bed at night. It has reached the point now that I am

forced out of bed at about 4AM each morning much the same as before the

op. On the bright side once I have made it down the stairs and put the

kettle on the pain has usually eased so much that pain killers are not

required.

I have no pain in my legs or back the rest of the day, just at night.

Is this normal?

Am I doing somethng wrong?

Hi,

Does anyone here take Lyrica? My pain mgmt. MD just prescribed it for

me due to L3 collapsing on top of L4, resulting in impingement on the

right nerve root, giving me groin and foot pain.

Does it work? Any side effects? Thanks.

I have been taking Lyrica since last spring. I have nerve root impingment

also due to 3 herniated cervical discs. The pain in my fingers, hands and arms

was terrible before the Lyrica. Now it hurts less frequently and the pain is

much less severe. Good luck and God bless you!
