Guest guest
I don't think so. I was a drywall finisher for about 20 years and that had really put a lot on my neck and back, well hell my whole body. I feel sence I had gotten pregnant with my last son, who is 6 1/2 months old now, and I am just now getting some releaf on my back, I think I had used my neck a lot more to move around because of lower back pain, that is has made it hurt now too. My head feels like it is so heavy most of the time, and the pain in my neck gives me a bad headache. Has anyone eles felt like this. Thanks Vicki
Guest guest
, Thanks for anwering me back. I go back to my doctor this Friday, hopefully he can help me in another way. I am a singal mother of 4 and haven't been able to work in 15 months. It is really killing me. I know there is also a lot of stress going on here too, and that can't be any help either I know. The state can't help, because I make $700.00 a month in child support and they say that is to much for a family of 5, hell my morg. and land rent is more then that. I just want to get better so I can go back to work again, but without the money, I guess there is only so much some of these doctor will do for us. That really sucks, fix me and they won't hear from me anymore, the state is paying so much more for helping us as little as possiable at a time, then if they would just help us get the relief, so we can at least feel pretty normal. I know they can't fix us all, but how can they tell me I can go back to work, when I still hurt so much, it hurts for me to sit and hold my 6 1/2 month old baby. Disability has turned me down twice it will be a year next month. They go by what the doctor saids. But yet then they aren't the ones in pain. Good luck to us all in feel better this year 2004. Thanks again . Vicki
Guest guest
Can't remember, but do you have an injury to your neck? I would think since the epidural shot was given in the lower back, that would be the area it would help. Vivian H.
Guest guest
Vici, the fact is that epidurals don't help everybody. Or they may help for a period of time, then old symptoms return. Lucky ones have months and months of relief. You very well may have something going on that requires more than just injections, which really only hide the symptoms of the problem. Also, you may have had a doctor that was not as skilled a technician in giving the epidural to you. I was VERY lucky in that my ortho doctor insisted I go to a man he had known and respected for years to do my epidurals. I didn't have a minute's discomfort, even though the injections helped only for a little while.
Guest guest
Hi Vicki Epidurals and nerve blocks dont fix anything........they just simply block the pain in the nerve temporarily. This is the reason my husband opted out of it....some people have great success with them, and are pain free for 6 mths, some people get pain relief but for a much shorter amount of time, and some people have no success whatsoever with them. Its just the luck of the draw as to who they work for and who they dont I would go back to your doctor and see what other options hes willing to discuss with you. Have you tried contacting a lawyer about your disability? Having been off work 12 mths already and not really able to return now, ther should be someway for you to get this help. I would atleast talk to a lawyer that does consultation free and see what advise he can offer you. My husband was uninsured when his L5S1 ruptured and we went through a state aided rehabilitation program that we found out about through our hick town doctor. They paid for him to see a neuro, have a myleogram, and ultimately paid for his surgery and after care. There are options out there, you just have to beat your head against the wall to get them out of people...What we found was no one offered us any information outright, we had to force anyone to tell us what we could apply for or what help we migh be eligible for. A single mother of 4 that is unable to work is bound to be able to get some sort of help somewhere ( i never will understand why child suport can be counted against a parent as income......since courts continuilly stress that child support is a CHILDS income.... Makes no sense to me how the state depts can get away with it, but somehow they do.) I wish you the best and i hope you acn find some sort of help and answers. Best wishes! ~~TinaMarie www.GoldenMagnolias.com epidural shot 6 days ago Good morning everyone, and Happy New Year. I had L5 S1 bulging disk, ok my question about that is, I had the epidural shot 6 days ago. I felt releaf pretty much right away in my lower part of my back. My neck and under my left shoulder blade was still hurtung, but not as bad. The Dr. said it could take up to five days to feel good again. Well it felt sooo much better for 2 days, I was I thought I was going to be on cloud 9 any day now. Well instead of feeling better, it has been hurting more and more each day, my neck and under my left shoulder blad, and headaches, and arms still weak and pain still comes and gose, and ever sence the shot I've been getting heartburn every night. My question is, is that normal? Is that part of the healing? My other question, I had ask the Dr. when will I be able to go back to work? he said I should be ready after I had the epidural shot. My head still feels heavy and a lot of neck pain, hurts to hold my head up for long, even after I lay down it still hurts. What is going on? Is all this normal? Will I still feel releaf from this in time?, and did this fix my bulging disk? So to go on like this the coffee is working me over this morning. Thanks for taking the time out to read this, and again Happy New Year, and hope everyone feels better throughout the whole new year. Guest guest
Hello again! I had waited so long to get help for the pain in my back, and the pain in all my joints. I am a singal mother of 5, one is in heaven and 7 month boy, 7 year old girl, 15 year old girl, and son who is 18, and the one who passed at the age of 3 months, would be 20. Telling my kids age makes me feel old.Although my aching body really makes me feel as if someone has taken over my life. The fun days are so long a go, I have had a lot of pain and just kept on going. There weretimes I would go to get help, nut not having the money it was like they all gave me percriptions and sent me on my way.So there for I didn't go until I couldn't deal with the pain, or my asthma was so bad I thought I was diying. Well now I have gotten about 1 1/2 months is the past 15 months. II tryed so hard to go back to work, I would work for 1 hour or 4 hours a day off and on in the past 15 months. so now that I got to this point in my life where the pain is a big part of my everyday life.so much pain and very hard to get comfortable, each breath I am so glad to be taking, asthma comes and gose just like the pain, althought the pain is pretty much 24/7. I had the epidural shot , and I believe it was really getting better, well for 2 day, then it is all coming back, but before I got my shot, it was hurting under mt left shoulder blade, and my neck. After the shot, I started feel more pain in the same places and even other places now, before they were there from time to time, but now they are longer and stronger. I went shopping today, and it hurts so bad to bend down on. When I turn my head to the left side hurts and my right knee. The pains are so strong and sharp. I rest for a few hours then got up and took a deep breath and tried it again. Oh boy it still hurts a great deal. I really don't think my family dr. thinks I hurt in all the places I do, when he says were I go on and on, I try just trying to tell him all over, but he wanted to here me say right where I hurt, well to make this shore, after I was about half way through if even that far, he told me to talk to my therapist, omg, that really made me mad. But I told him that I'll do that. Could someone feel all these pains in there head, and it not be real? I won't say what I wanted to say and do to him. But I sure did leave there knowing that was the last time I will go to him after I get my results about the huge lump I have in my top leg, He believed that because he could see and feel it. but the rest of me is real too, even though you can't see it Now I have chest pains, I'll take 4 to 6 tums, and, it may help a little, but is still there, just about eveyday after I got the shot. Has anyone felt like that too. Damn here I go on and on and not sure where I am going with this. If they don't believ me they wouldn't keep on giving me more and more pills, right? although there was only one kind that I could feel that helped me.I think some of these dr.'s are like Lawyers, If you have money youyu get a good one, that will do his very best to help you, and if not, then you get one that hasn't had much luck in winning. Well once again I went on and on, thanks for your time, and hope we all get the good ones, who cares about us all, and trys very hard to help us . P.S. Hope this all makes sence God Bless you all, and I wish the very best for us all...
