I get my guai from the VA clinic. I'm a disabled army veteran and I

have asthma so my doc was able to twist the prescribing rules to get

the guai for me based on my asthma. She knows I'm using it for my FM

but it has a side bonus of helping me breathe better too I found out.

And that really wasn't even on my mind when I asked her LOL. The brand

the VA gives is Mucinex long acting, it's a blue and white tablet that

has a quick dissolve layer and a long acting layer. It works for about

6 hours so I take my doses, 600 mg, every six hours. I was taking them

at 1200 mg every 12 hours but I was flooding my system with phosphates

that couldn't wash out fast enough and were being redeposited. I was

going thru this cycle every 12 hours and was going thru more pain than

was necessary without reversing any faster. So changing the dosing

schedule eased my reversal and made it more efficient. You can buy

Mucinex over the counter at walmart or anywhere. You should start low,

like 300 mg every 12 hours and work your way to your personal dose

from there. Get the books and read them first so you understand how to

adjust the dose. The guai group I mentioned also has links to mail

order pharmacies that have the guai cheaper, that might be something

you would be interested in if you turn out to need a higher dose like

I do. As to my diet, like I said Lord help me. I'm trying to do the

right carb thing. This isn't necessarily low carb, but RIGHT carb. But

it isn't easy so I slip a lot. I used to really rake myself over the

guilt coals when I did but the stress from that made my pain worse so

I decided I'm not gonna sweat it anymore. It's too hard for me to go

cold turkey on the carbs so I'm easing into it. And each day I get

better. Eventually I will be on it the right way completely, but I'm

not whipping myself if I slide. I'm human. But at the same time, I'm

not using that as an excuse to pig out. I am using some will power and

I am making progress. Darlene
