Guest guest
I had lower back surgery in '96,'97,'97 & '98, I have chronic pain treated with morphine & tramadol for break thru pain. Due to increased activity over xmas period I ended up laid back on my special recliner chair with hot packs & tramadol 2-4 hourly for severe sciatica, on Christmas day, luckily my family managed to get a lovely meal served up for the 9 of us for lunch. You do come to terms living with chronic pain, people think your OK because you look good in the face and are moving better. They don't see what you are constantly living with. Anyway hang in there, you can live with chronic pain....it becomes part of you. Sitting is a definate no no in the early stages...even later on, it is better if you can manage to have a recliner chair made to suit your height...you can lay back, thus taking the pressure off your spine. I still roll out of bed you learn. If you have to pick an item of the floor you are better if you lean forward & lift one leg up of the floor as you go...this prevents bending the back....which I can't do anyway 'cause it is fused from L4-5, L5-S1...so no more twisting/bending for me..good luck, lyn. Guest guest
I understand, I married my pain, and as long as I do my new modification he doesnt give me to much of a bad time, once I step out of line, doing what I'm not suppose to do, or to much of something he starts to nag, nag till I give it pain killer. So we're still trying to get along, eventhough lots of times he'll let me know his there, or start nagging.

This how I have to presieve my pain so it wont drive me crazy of pain

Try, now I said Try cause I know it haaaaaaard to relax while your in that pain cause it is a big ouch. You'll have to modify more your life style, like when you walk you have to turn your whole body together, dont leave feet behind or to go before cause then you have that sharp pain, and sitting in good posture straaaight up all the time, need any more suggestions let me know.
Hope you feel better today

Mari
