Guest guest
Hello everyone! I kept trying and trying to take the methadone the pain management doctor prescribed. I couldn't do it! I called my primary care physician up and complained. They are setting me up with a new pain management doctor. I don't have an appointment as of yet. So I am keeping my fingers crossed (ha ha) that this doctor is better. I will let you all know the results. I am in California. I have been trying to get Social security disability. I got denied the first time. Did the reconsideration thing next. I had been calling SS pretty much monthly cause Metlife who is my long term disability with my employer requires it. I got my newest letter dated May 30, 2006 stating my case is still pending. I faxed this off to Metlife. I am notified after that by Social security I was denied a second time in Jan 2006. I was never notified. I was sooo depressed. It was just another thing to add to my mess of troubles. I was told I could write a letter of good cause because it is past the 60 days you are suppose to respond for a hearing. I am told I have no guarantees I can get a hearing plus I am told a hearing can take forever. I need many prayers cause I don't have long term disability pay with my job much longer. I am staying with a friend in a 1 bedroom with her 15 year old son. It is not the best of situations. They don't really want me here. So everything is coming to a head. I don't have family either. I am sorry this is long and somewhat a bummer.
Guest guest
Sharon, I to have MetLife for LTD and am in the process of applying for SSD. Don't let MetLife scare you too bad along as you have doctors on your side. I am currently awaiting a trial date for a judge to decide about SSD. I get evaluated every 3 months by MetLife so it seems to be a circle of red tape. I know I would much rather be working than doing what I am doing. Regarding SSDI, file for an appeal ASAP and get a lawyer involved. It's advisable to have a lawyer once the reconsideration is denied. It's not uncommon to get this denial especially if you are young and not in immediate need. Email if you have specific questions. I have been on LTD since June 05 (medically disqualified 12/14/04). I have several ruptured thoracic discs with the worst causing a 6 mm depression of my spinal cord. Currently, my main problem is severe chronic pain that is minimally relived with Fentanyl, Oxycodone, Oxycontin, Neurontin, Cymbalta, and Provigil. Methadone update Hello everyone! Guest guest
Hi, Just a quick question. Were you taking methadone or the generic call Methadose? I was unable to take the Methadose because it made me very ill and I ended up in the hospital from my reaction. It made me vomit consistently and extremely constipated. All this after less than a week of being on it. My cardiac blood chemistry was elevated and I had an inverted t-wave on my ekg. I was kept over night for observation. One thing I heard from several people is that people get sick using the generic stuff (Methadose) but are able to take the methadone. I am now using the Duragesic patch along with Oxycontin/oxycodone as part of my pain management program. God Bless, Re: Methadone update > > Hello everyone!
