Hi Everyone!

Let's all wish well tomorrow-she's going in for a medical

test-and she's not feeling that well right now. A bunch of us from

CHERAB had to get together for a publicity picture for the December

Tree Lighting that is honoring CHERAB Foundation so I had a chance to

see today and give her a hug. She is such an awesome person

and is working hard to help all of our children and I'm so happy

she's one of my friends.

Thanks -and hope all goes well tomorrow!! Feel better soon!!

Love,

=====

Hi everyone,

Just wanted to let you know I'm back on track and running again. All

went well, just waiting for some further test results but everything

looks OK for now. , Thanks for your well wishes!

Now back to business. The Christmas tree lighting is DEC 5 and I will

be picking up the invites this week, and sending them out as soon as

possible so please e-mail me at md070264@... (md070264 at

aol.com) with your address or anyone else's that you think would like

to come (family, friends etc. ALL are welcome) It will be a lovely

and fun family evening with food, carolers, Santa, a huge, huge tree,

etc. What a great way to start off the Holiday Season with family and

friends. And since the Cherab Foundation is being honored this year

and this is a media event every year with TV, radio, newspapers,

magazines, etc., what more can you ask for to help us raise awareness

about our children?

I have some very exciting news, next week Nov. 19 my husband and I

will be driving to Washington D.C to meet with our Congressmen Mike

Ferguson. I can't wait. We will represent the CHERAB Foundation to

discuss the issues as parents we are concerned about. Dr. Katz will

also be attending this meeting with us to let Congressmen Ferguson

know about the research the CHERAB Foundation has planned, and about

the continued funding we will need for this very important study. We

have heard that Congressmen Ferguson is looking forward to attending

both the Tree Lighting and the CHERAB fundraiser on Feb 16.

Speaking of the CHERAB Fundraiser even though Feb. sounds far away it

really isn't. This will be a dinner dance held at Headquarters Plaza

Hotel in town, NJ, there will be a cocktail hour with open bar

all night, a gourmet dinner and dancing, a Chinese auction and much

more. A great way to have fun and raise money for research.

Everything we will be doing for this fundraiser will rely on

donations, this is where I will be asking for your help. We need

donations for the Chinese auction. It could be anything, if your

Mother knits a baby blanket that would be nice, if your husband or

wife gets tickets to a sports event through work we could use that,

if you would like to donate a basket in your family name of books,

toys, bath products that would be great too.

I have my sister donating a fish tank and the fish from her pet

store, my other sister will be making up a gourmet food basket and my

other sister is donating a DVD player. I have my brother in law

donating a TV and my cousins husband will be donating a queen size

bed spread. I have Waterford coming from My Irish Cottage in Summit,

Higgens and I will be going to business's in the area

looking for other donations gift certificates for dinner lunch etc.

Well, you get the picture. You don't have to live in Jersey to help.

Anything or any time donated would be a great help. This is our

chance to have some fun and raise money for the research that is so

badly needed. You can send any donations to:

CHERAB Foundation

Attn: de Poortere Director of Fundraising

I know we all have busy lives and things to do, yet any help sent our

way will be greatly appreciated and we will be on our way to helping

to give our children a smile and a voice. Thank you

Dear Sheila,

What great news!! I remember when I started Bobby on EFA's I didn't know

what to expect. Each child is different and in some cases it may be a couple

of weeks before you see any results but with Bobby it was days! It just

wasn't just his speech it was everything, he was much happier more focused

and even walked around the house humming and then singing. You'll see new

changes every day and it gets better and better. Good luck and keep us

posted!!

That is great news. People considering banding need to hear of the

success others have had with insurance companies. Not everyone is

turned down, but unfortunately, it is those who are turned down that

they hear from the most!

Don't feel bad for getting what you rightly deserve and pay for with

your policy premiums!

Good luck tomorrow.

COVERING THE BAND 100%...I'm SHOCKED. I have been loosely putting

together an appeal since we started all of this, thinking that they

would deny us...Also, I thought the best we could do was 80%

covered, since it is out of network to go to CT. Again, I am

the letter of approval, stating that we have no out-of-pocket costs,

has already been mailed to us and the CT office.

,

Wow - that is GREAT news!! You should not feel bad about posting that here.

We LOVE to hear the insurance company success stories. It gives faith that

there are some insurance companies out there who are willing to step up and

do the right thing.

Let us know how it goes at the fitting tomorrow!

Being on pred for so long had my Pancreas throwing fits and I developed

Type II Diabetes. My fasting blood sugar was 275 and my A1C (Special

Blood test for diabetics)was 9.0. BADDDDDDDD!

Well, since I have been off pred, started watching my diet and getting

daily exercise, my fasting blood sugar is now usually 80-90 and my A1C

is now LIKE A NORMAL PERSON AT 5.2. WHOOOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOOO.

Thanks to Xolair, I no longer have to take that nasty prednisone.!

I just opened my emails late this afternoon and found one from MDACC.

20 out of 20 normal diploids was the message. O.K. Zavie, now you can get your

megaphone out and I want my number sprinkled with stardust if that is not too

much trouble. Now there is a project, printing Zero numbers on T-shirts. Zavie

has his on his cap and he's never without it, but I don't look so good in a hat.

LOL Just wanted to share my good news, I waited 14.5 years to claim it and
