Guest guest
wow, mary. you need to get some help for yourself. just to help you get out of the funk (that you had a lot of outside help getting into). are you taking a lot of meds? also are you taking antidepressants? i find - for me - less meds and a good antidepressent help a lot. also, just for the record. my neurosurgeon told me that i needed a 3 level fusion with all the crap. after 1-1/2 yrs because of the support in this group, i went to see a minimally invasive orthopedic surgeon who told me i wasn't a candidate for MI surgery but he also told me i only needed one level fusion and when i asked the neurosurgeon about that he said " oh, did i tell you that? i must have been drunk. " he was kidding about the drunk but he still had given me wrong information. and behind thatt i still wasnt sure which doctor to use. bec. neurosurgeon is very highly rated on those best doctors lists and othopedic surgeon is not. but thru this all i talked to everyone and asked for help and then - this is important - i ran a 20 year history on my orthopedic surgeon and he came up clean. i also spoke to two of his patients. stay strong mary. you are important to all of us. my prayers are with you. marsha In a message dated 6/3/2006 4:35:57 PM Eastern Standard Time, bigred84022@... writes: To make things worse I found out that the reason my first neurosurgeon bailed on me is cuz he had a malpractice lawsuit against him that went to court. Guest guest
I am currently on 2 different pain meds, a muscle relaxer, anti-inflammatory, plus 2 drugs for chronic tension headaches. Yes I am on an anti-depressant that works very well for me but unfortunately I can't take it but every 3-4 days cuz I have no dr to prescribe it to me. I do manage to get myself out of my funks. I am just having one of those days where I needed to vent about it all to someone other then my poor husband who hears it all. How did you go about doing a search on your doctor? I have no clue how to do that. But I would if I knew how to go about it. Guest guest
Go to (your state) medical board.com. then when it brings it up to the home page, click on Find doctor, then with the name you can see if that dr. has any previous marks against him/her what the results were and whatnot. Guest guest
I just tried doing that and it did not work. I have tried to do a search but am unable to pull anything up that gives any kind of info on any doctors accept for finding out if they have any disciplinary action against them. Guest guest
mary, that is just crazy. your primary care will not prescribe antidepressants? as i see it, your choice here is to either change primary care's or ask to see a shrink - immediately. a shrink can prescribe an anti depressant super quick. also i take SAM-E 400 - 2 tablets a day and oh my goodness, they really help raise my serotonin levels. my best, marsha oh yea, you could go and quietly threaten your PC in person that you are depressed and if he withholds meds from you and something happens, he would be respoonsible. but smile when you say that. also, dec. 7th is just 2 days away kind of and you are probably going through withdrawal which is a bitch. been there. done that. your new neurosurgeon, if he is decent and honorable will not prescribe meds without thoroughlly checking your body which might include ordering a new mri. if i were you (i know i am not) i would be so grateful to god for having the quack doctor run out on me. things could be way way worse. marsha
Guest guest
My neurologist is who prescribed all my meds including the antidepressant up till my neurosurgeon up and quit his practice and moved to another state. Right now I am inbetween doctors cuz my neurosurgeon can no longer legally prescribe any of my meds cuz he was working under the neurosurgeons lisence. SO as it stands right now I have no neurologist, and the new neurosurgeon says I am not iffically his patient till I see him on the 7th in which case he will then prescribe my meds. And my primary doctor will not prescribe any of the meds the neurologist has me on now. Its a big mess. Guest guest
Yes Marsha things could always be much worse then they are. Today I am in a really good mood aside from the pain. The new neurosurgeon with not be doing any new tests cuz he has them all from the " quack that ran away " LOL. He said the discogram I had just a couple of months ago plus the MRIs that were already taken was enough for him to go ahead and do the surgery that was originally planned. He is just going through the front instead of the back cuz he says the recovery is quicker and he has had a higher success rate doing it that way. I am hanging in there and doing good for now. I have enough of everything to keep me going till I see the dr on the 7th, plus dh is taking me away for our anniversary the night before. who is happily hanging in Utah BLEECKERST10012@... wrote: mary, that is just crazy. your primary care will not prescribe antidepressants? as i see it, your choice here is to either change primary care's or ask to see a shrink - immediately. a shrink can prescribe an anti depressant super quick. also i take SAM-E 400 - 2 tablets a day and oh my goodness, they really help raise my serotonin levels. my best, marsha oh yea, you could go and quietly threaten your PC in person that you are depressed and if he withholds meds from you and something happens, he would be respoonsible. but smile when you say that. also, dec. 7th is just 2 days away kind of and you are probably going through withdrawal which is a bitch. been there. done that. your new neurosurgeon, if he is decent and honorable will not prescribe meds without thoroughlly checking your body which might include ordering a new mri. if i were you (i know i am not) i would be so grateful to god for having the quack doctor run out on me. things could be way way worse. marsha
