We have had 2 passings in our community quite recently.

Many of you will remember Allan (with two L's) was the way he always signed his name and Star Cook (star1956) Both have passed away recently. My prayers and sympathies are extended to both their families and friends. It is always sad when we lose people to this *crummy disease* who fought such a hard battle. Allan was trying treatment even though he had cirrhosis and diabetes and he had a heart attack about 3 or 4 weeks ago. Treatment was stopped and he went home doing seemingly well. No one heard from him for several days and a well check was done by the Sheriff's office and they found him. Star was on the transplant list in North Carolina and was very excited about that. Seemingly *out of nowhere* they found she was filled with cancer and removed her from the transplant list. She passed fairly quickly after the cancer diagnosis was made. I am told it was a peaceful passing. God bless all of those that have gone before us and those of us that will follow. This is a sad sad disease.
