Guest guest
MUSIC Escovedo 9:30 p.m. Thursday, April 7, Berbati’s Pan Singer-songwriter Escovedo began his music career in the mid-’70s with the San Francisco punk band the Nuns. He went on to pioneer the cowpunk band Rank and File, followed by the True Believers, which he formed with his brother . A consummate storyteller with a gritty, plaintive voice, Escovedo defies categorization. Diagnosed with hepatitis C and without health insurance, he recently has received support from musicians joining together for benefit concerts and releasing a tribute album, “Por Vida,” last year. Additional performances by D. Graham and Richmond Fontaine. 231 S.W.
