I should have added that my low PFT results coupled with the fact that I am not

on oxygen, I am not an invalid (though most people with my lung function are on

oxygen and are pretty much incapcitated), I still lead a very active life. In

fact all of my doctors are amazed that I do all of the things I do and this new

allergist is no exception. I have never smoked, never lived with anyone who

smoked, although I was subjected to smoking in my early years in the work place

and even in college--back before smoking bans in public. We had mold in our

back bathroom but when we discovered it (there was a leak in the wall) we had

the bath gutted, cleaned, and redone. The only other time I was exposed to mold

on a regular basis was for three years in the early 80's (just before my asthma

hit big time) when I was assigned a classroom in a " permanent " portable building

at the school where I taught. My health went down so fast that even though they

moved me into the big building I

finally quit and went to a private school where my health (asthma) gradually

improved over the years. Anyway--that's the background for the tests today and

tomorrow. Maybe this doctor will be able to tell me something!
