ISLAMABAD: Young Pakistani doctor honored for clinical research about Hepatitis-C treatment and its outcomes will be presented in Asia Pacific Association Study of Liver Diseases Conference being held in Kyoto, Japan on March 27-30.Five research papers about Hepatitis-C treatment and its implication will be presented from Division of Gastroenterology of Shifa International Hospital. The research was primarily conducted by Dr. Saima Firdos a medical officer in the division under the guidance of Prof. Muzaffar Lateef Gill.Prof. Gill appreciated the hard and intelligent work of Dr. Saima Firdos and these studies are very pivotal in relation to the exact type of treatment of Hepatitis-C with Pegylated interferon versus standard interferon. This work will be presented in the plenary session of the Asia Pacific Association Study of Liver Diseases Conference. This is a tremendous achievement for the Division of Digestive Diseases of Shifa International Hospital and the country.
