Guest guest
The worst I have heard of is that in SOME women the treatment seems to stimulate or promote development of rheumatoid arthritis, but it definitely seems to be an effect most prevalent in women for some reason, fyi.barbarac102 <barbarac102@...> wrote: Hi Everyone,I have heard of various side effects during treatment and I've heard someone mention lasting side effects after treatment. Guest guest
Hi Barbara Well I can only tell you what has happened to me.. I am left with cataracts in both eyes ( one has been surgically removed when I had my last eye surgery), Sarcoidosis in my right eye ( had 2 surgeries for that) Severe Osteoarthritis, beginning or early Rheumatoid Arthritis, elevated SED rate which indicates ongoing inflammation, Chronic Fatigue and Fibromyalgia... Some ppl can also end up with diabetes and other autoimmune diseases such as lupus or scleroderma.. bone degeneration , pernicious anemia etc,, Im sure that others will come along soon and post more to this.. its NOT a pretty sight but not every one ends up with long term damage like I did..barbarac102 <barbarac102@...> wrote: Hi Everyone,I have heard of various side effects during treatment and I've heard someone mention lasting side effects after treatment. Guest guest
Hi Jackie, I am so sorry to hear of all these things that has happened to you as a result of treatment. I hope you don't mind me asking, why do you suppose you were left with this many side effects? Did you have anything like this, like the beginning stages before tx or were these side effects all brand new? I have only heard of others speak on brain fog and loss of concentration thus far. These side effects you mention here are serious. I am sorry you and others have gotten them. BarbaraJackie on <redjaxjm@...> wrote: Hi Barbara Well I can only tell you what has happened to me.. Guest guest
So...these are the side effects that is in some cases are irreversible, can cause death and others leave after 8 weeks of the discontinuation of treatment. That is some scary stuff. I was looking to hear from people's experience. If I would to go by just looking at this, I don't know, is it me, or is this, I don't know how to put it, insane? This I would put on the side on why not to take treatment if you could put it off. Guest guest
Hi Barbara I too am sorry that I was left with all these problems as they have prevented me from returning to my chosen career ( I was a 911 paramedic for 15 years).. No, I did not have most of those problems before treatment and they are all caused from the Interferon/Ribavirin Treatment.. all are in the pamplet on side effects.. of both meds,, I dont know why I was left with them all, I have NO clue,, I wish I did but as I have said many times, the hep c is in remission and THAT makes it all worth it.. the hep was gonna kill me and these left overs while are very uncomfortable and make life have much less quality, the new things wont kill me,, well the sarcoid can if it were to spread to my heart or lungs,, but so far its only in one eye.. MOST ppl do not have these permanent side effects altho it does seem that more ppl ARE reporting them.. after treatment.. I dont have the answers hon, I wish I did but I dont,, I DO know severals who have treated and have been able to go back to work and dont have much in the way of left overs,, jaxBarbara <barbarac102@...> wrote: Hi Jackie, I am so sorry to hear of all these things that has happened to you as a result of treatment. That's why I really wanted to hear from individuals. But I'm also hearing from individuals with some unwanted side effects, but yes, this list is way more scary. elizabethnv1 <elizabethnv1@...> wrote: If I could I would treat again in a heartbeat . I'm 7 months post treatment (geno 1, 48 weeks, and still waiting for the results of my PCR) and have no remaining side effects, though they were moderate to severe during tx. Good luck, Don
