Actually, I am fixing to have a biopsy next week and then treatment.. I have been reading about plants after reading a msg by Mark C. that I found really interesting called "The healing power of plants". But I am going to take Peg-Inteferon plus Ribx and see what happens. I am sad about the odds I read concerning remissions in 1a. I was hoping so much I wasn't in the majority. I am sorry I didn't care enough about my life years ago that I choose to inject myself with poison. I am sorry my family has to go through this. I am so sorry about so many things. I have an absolutely wonderful family and son and telling my husband about who I was 23 yrs ago has been horrible. I will never tell my son. I am getting him tested. I changed my life and now the past is kicking me in the rear again. I guess I am on a pity me role right now. Please don't tell me not to be. I know I shouldn't. I just am dreading the process that is fixing to take over my life. It makes one feels a little out of control. You know, it's like you first find out you have it... Hey let me add something.. I am not suicidal or anything or nuts. I am merely quitting smoking. Today is day 2 and my stress is up and I am home alone and want to hit the walls. I know life is for the living and I am trying to be part of that but cigs are my last habit. Claudine said her taste buds changed when she found out... I wish mine had. Maybe they did and I didn't realize it as I increased my nicotine from 1 pack to 3 daily...

So, today I give nervous wreck a whole new meaning. But I am okay. I am strong willed, and strong minded and "believe"..

I am 1a .... as well. I am waiting for the shipment of supplements to come in that you so nicely helped me to choose.

As of now I am on Milk Thistle, and Colostrum, Papaya Enzyme Plus, vitamins C, E, and Complex B.

I am trying to stop smoking and change my diet ASAP.

I am juicing greens and eating greens more often. Last night for supper I made a very good green bean soup.

Cooking is in my favor because I was a chef for 15 years. I just have to learn to cook with out the butter and fat lol!

Just being on Milk Thistle, and Colostrum I feel 100% better, not as tired and more energy.

Hi Goik - You, like me, did things a long time ago that are coming

back to bite you. My point of view is that I got a chance to start my

life over when I got sober and clean, and now I'm getting a second

chance. How many people start their lives over? How many people start

their lives over twice? We have an opportunity to more or less

reinvent ourselves as better, healthier people. I have been trying to

lead a healthier life style for years and took little baby steps to

do so. When I was diagnosed in October, it pushed me to really do it.

It may sound weird to some people, but I am almost grateful to have

HepC because it has opened my eyes to so much about my mind and body.

It's kind of like my cousin who had prostate cancer and treated it

holistically 20 years ago and was cured. He later succumbed to

another form of cancer after 15 years. But, the life he lived in

those 15 years was so much better than most live in a lifetime. I

feel as though I am being given an opportunity to finally take charge

of my own body; and believe me, it is a very empowering feeling.

Finally eating right, being aware of what's going on with me,

searching for the best answers for myself, taking part in my own

life! I am beating the dragon and can't wait for my bloodwork next

month to see the improvement. Every day I'm getting younger and

healthier! I quit smoking a year and a half ago. I can't say I went

through what you're going through because I didn't smoke as much. I

had just had enough. I haven't had a drink or drug in 20 years. I

quit when I had enough. Dare I say it? the G word? My success is all

due to God. Hang in there!! It's not the end of the world! Love &

Hi, I'm genotype 4a, and I've had hep c for 15 years or so, I'm guessing. I quit smoking 3 1/2 years ago after a 20 yr., 2 pack-a-day habit--it was very hard--I did it with Wellbutrin (two months) and the patch (just a couple weeks)--I will never go back. As for drinking, that was a hard one to give up too-- but life is sweet--and I won't let this dragon get me. I've been on Dr. Zhang's protocol for a year and a half, as well as other supportive supplements, and my ALT and AST have been reduced to normal levels. I also see a traditional Chinese Medicine doc who examines me physically every 4 months, and a western primary care doc who oversees my health, and orders my bloodwork every three months. He says my bloodwork looks good and I seem very healthy otherwise (except for a few auto-immune symptoms which crop up occasionally in response to stress), so he is not pushing for me to have a biopsy or go on traditional treatment, which he knows I would refuse anyway, (I've always believed in using natural treatments if possible--my own personal feeling-- plus I'm feeling pretty good--I figure why put something into my body which could hurt me?), so until something comes along with a better safety profile and cure rate, I'm going to stick to natural treatments and trying to live as clean a lifestyle as possible, and try to give my liver a break every chance I can....I deal with the stress of everyday living by doing yoga, playing with my dogs, caring for my plants and crystals, laughing with the old woman I take care of, doing Reiki on myself and others, and playing hand drums and the African mbira (extremely relaxing, as the music sounds like falling rain or a music box--very ethereal). I joined an African Dance and Drumming group at a nearby college, where they welcome community members, just for fun.... Also a nice herbal bath, with soft music and candles, is soothing and at the same time uplifting after a hard day......that's what I do to get thru all of this.......sincerely, Satya

After reading your mail, I can see perspective is very important. Whether one uses the G-word or not to gain it. That's what we are all striving for. Cigarettes are worse to kick that cocaine... oh my g... !

I used to meditate alot. Not on drugs but a coule of years ago. Maybe it's time to start again. I felt great then and it would probably help me. I guess feeling out of control is just part of the process of getting in control as my body goes through a change. Without my cigs, I feel so light headed. I hope it's not due to anything else.

Last week a couple of times I was out of my head. It was horrible to tell my husband about this. But I remember watching a tv show and there was this guy who electricity went out. So he lit a candle under a curtain. It was done that way to increase the anticipation of the watching audience to wonder if he was fixing to burn the house down. I, myself remember thinking.." Oh shoot, he needs to blow that candle out." A few minutes later as I sat there on the couch, I caught myself turning my head and blowing out a nonexistant candle beside me. I jumped when I realized what I had done. I lost reality for a brief moment. It scared me so much I started crying. I have since read about people doing things like this with hepc and it is very scary. I lost track for a moment and forgot what was real. No, I am not crazy. Quite sane in fact. I don't know what happened, but I really thought for a moment I had a candle lit for a moment. Has anyone had these type of symptoms happen to them??

I am going to remember what you said. This is my life and I must empower myself so I can get well. Your letter is very well written and is food for thought for me. I have everything straighted out as far as treatment and doctors. It is the emotional end that is still distraught... Thank you so much, Goik

Way to go on day number 2 - and actually it is "taste bud" (not Claudine - we are mixed up all the time)...I quit caffeine totally after a very steady diet of diet coke and coffee. I think it is a whole lot of mind over matter. The mind is a very persuavsive part of our body and one that I decided that I definitely wanted to go into treatment with on MY side!!! I too am a type 1, high viral load of over 3,800,000+, have had this for probably 25+ years, liver biopsy shows 3-4 fibrosis and 2-3 inflammation, am 50 years old and in the best shape I have ever been in mind, body and soul. I have really made a concientious effort to put all my resourses into getting myself ready to "go to battle" against this dragon (yoga, working out, great diet, acupressure, etc.)...figure at best with my figures that my odds are probably 40% but damn it there is no reason why I can't be a part of that 40%. BRING IT ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We have all been and most likely will still be at the place you are now. You will go through many stages as far as coping with this virus. I know that I have many, many more to go.

As far as herbs go, I have quite an extensive list of herbs and supplements that I take, but I have been consulting with a nutritionist after doing extensive research on my own.

That's a good start. If you will add the Active H- you will booste the delivery of everything 3x, and at 4 a day it will encapsulate the nutrients in your intestine, carry them past the lvier and deliver tehm into your cells in the whole form....Not to mention, balance, allkalamise your terrain, and resoter yoru cellular health,, cellular communication, (electrical conductivity,) it will create an electron rich envirinment.
