Subject: 16th birthday boobs ~ IAS writes Canadian Newspaper

Dear Ilena,

Please post for all to read,Ý I.A.S.Implant Awareness Society's reply to

the newspaper in Vancouver Canada that requested comments. This news was

also on a local radio show, and one of our very ill women, who has 12

clinically doctor diagnosed silicone diseases phoned in to the radio

station. She told them what her diseases are and gave them our phone

number. I had a woman phone me, who is desperately ill from gel implants

that the plastic surgeons are assuring her to keep. It just goes on and

on,Ý Thank you again for being there for us.

Adella .

Dear Province, Ý

In response to your request for comments on the article " And for her 16th

birthday, we're buying Jenna breasts " , we would like to inform you that

we provide accurate information to women,Ý doctors, health care

providers, and The World Health Organization about the toxic effects of

all breast implants. Ý

We are the I.A.S. Implant Awareness Society, registered in B.C. and

Ottawa, 604-572-8486. Our president and founder, Adella , has over

1,000 pages of documentation provided by the FDA and many Canadian and

American doctors. Ý The FDA banned silicone gel implants in 1992Ý when

they found beyond all doubt how silicone gel is toxic to the human body.

On page 15, Breast Implants: An Information Update, printed by the FDA in

1998 states: " recommended removal of all gel-filled implants preferablyÝ

before 8 years of implantation " . What plastic surgeon tells women that?

We have yet to find one! Ý

The FDA has issued a warning to immediately remove all Trilucent or

soy-oil breast implants. Death comes in two weeks if one ruptures.

Plastic surgeons are dragging their heels on this one. The public was led

to believe that gel and soy were safe and effective!

Ý Saline breast implants were recently approved by the FDA, setting a

new low standard for them, and many doctors other than plastic surgeons

were appalled. Ý The elastomer shell for all breast implants is silicone.

Fumes from the elastomer shells, heated to 98 degrees, killed lab

animals, this is our own body temperature. This information comes from

Dow's own laboratory research.. Ý After the first surgery for saline

implantation, an average of three more will follow before the FDA

recommended removal time of less than 8 years. Ý Breast feeding is

totally discouraged. Bacteria is constantly in the implanted breast and

this is equivalent to mastitis. Documented for certain. Plastic surgeons,

who can earn one million on breast implantation surgery a year, do not

tell this ugly truth. Ý

The ls of The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada,

February 2000, page 34, quotes Cornella J. Bains MD, MSc, FACE:

" Regardless of indication, SBIs are associated with local and mechanical

side effects, fibrous capsule formation, discomfort, altered nipple

sensation, and implant dislocation and rupture. Such problems are

experienced by many and cause indisputable morbidity. " Ý What rational

thinking parents would want to set their daughter into a lifetimeÝ of

surgery every eight years or less. The truth must get out to the public,

who unknowingly promote these toxic, non-life-saving devices. There are

many other ways to promote to our teens that self-confidence comes from

within, not from a breast implant that, as Dr. Bains declares, causes

morbidity. There are over thirty diseases, documented in peer-reviewed

medical journals, caused or exacerbated by breast implants. Ý Many movie

stars, like Demi , are currently shunning all breast implants and

are getting explanted. Ý

Adella Surrey, B.C.
