And no, I've never heard of Ribavirin being prescribed alone and I don't even think you could get it by itself until it was 'unbundled' last year by Schering Plough. It sounds strange to me and definitely worth more investigating. Have you questioned the doctor and his/her reasoning for prescribing it alone? Might even be worth a call to the drug company as well. I looked at their website and found this: " ...WARNING REBETOL monotherapy is not effective for the treatment of chronic hepatitis C virus infection and should not be used alone for this indica-tion. This isn't easy as a younger person, I can't imagine how hard it must for for someone in their 70's.
