Guest guest
I have looked at the ingredients of the ones mentioned to see if there have been any changes since the last time I examined them. I have given my professional opinion regarding them. Also I want to mention that if someone says that they use x lip balm all the time and they are addicted to it or they can't be without it... that would raise my eyebrows. There are so called lipbalms out there that really dry the lips out and it is done intentionally so you keep buying it. They use chemical laden junk in their formulations. Personally I would only be using Organically certified lip balms / butters that are completely free of any nasty ingredients. You should be able to use the product for a short period of time and then not need it again. I know that after I treat my children with Miessence for 1 week that was it and they didn't need any for 8 months or more. Then it was just a one time application. As someone did mention, water and eating the correct amount of 'good' fats is essential in dealing with dry or chapped lips. BURTS BEES The lanolin is the issue in their products. IF they are sourcing their lanolin from Certified Organic Sheep.. then it would be fine, HOWEVER, I think that might be remote considering the cost. See lanolin will contain any chemicals that have been put on the sheep, and in the cosmetic industry MOST lanolin is highly contaminated with organo-phosphate pesticides and insecticides. CARMEX This one has petrol chemicals in it. I would avoid. DESERT ESSENCE TEA TREE LIP SALVE This has ozokerite (occurs in association with petroleum) . It also has propylene glycol a huge issue with safety actually. I wouldn't allow proplylene glycol near me or my family. Last the main ingredient is soybean oil (again something I wouldn't allow to come near me or my family). There are huge health issues with soybean oil and MANY lies from the manufactures of soy items. I personally wouldn't support the soy industry in anyway. SHEA TERRA LIP BUTTER They have a clean source of Shea butter which is good. My question is what are the full ingredients ? Any one have a tube and care to share the list of ingredients ? I spent 2 hours looking for ingredients of this Lip butter and still never found a full disclosure anywhere. My concern with this one is what is the 'natural sweetener' they are using ? I saw it mentioned on the website. Now obviously this lip butter looks fine for someone who is *not* dealing with candida. It is clean and pure in my opinion. However, the sweetener may make is a potential problem for people dealing with candida. Hope this helps. As always I believe that Miessense is one of the *best* companies out there. I have met Narelle and know her heart regarding purity. I am not saying that there are not other companies now following her example. Shea Terra appears it just might be. I do know that with all my years of experience in the industry that Miessense made a new mark, by being certified organic, not putting any bad ingredients in their products (some companies claim to be organic / natural and then put things like parabens in and claim the have to in order to preserve the product ... this is rubbish), and she also patented the cold processing which mean that nutrients are retained within the Miessense range. in the UK On 9/28/07, rpautrey2 <rpautrey2@...> wrote: > > I use Desert Essence Tea Tree Oil lip salve/chap stick.
