Guest guest
I can agree with Mona. I would like to see the plastic industry and the manufacturers stop preying on breast cancer survivors, too. Reconstructions are not the solution, with or without saline implants. It is an industry whose goal is to take advantage of the weak and vulnerable. If anyone has salines and have not experienced a spontaneous rupture with one, it is quite a painful experience when the rotten saline hits the nerve endings in the chest. If you do have one, be sure to tell the ER room that your implant has had a failure and you need to get it taken care of immediately. Sometimes ER staff may try to pass the pain off as something else. They told me I probably had shingles, gave me cortizone, and sent me home. My husband gave me two of his Tylenol 3 pills which had codeine in them. It knocked me out and when I woke up, I could fold up the skin on that side. I then called the ER back to tell them it was the implant. NO ONE, not even my happy, smiling Mayo trained PS suggested that I get the implant out right away.
