Guest guest
Bonnie - the book says that a significant number of folks develop AIHA, and a lesser number develop ITP. AIHA is depressingly common. The thought is that by getting treatment the cellular balance is upset, and the good guys don't know from the bad guys, and there is random cellular murder. As you know, the standard for AIHA is Prednisone and a couple of other things. It appears to be generally fixable. From what I've read, I'd rather have AIHA than ITP (no platelets). Stick with it, you'll get through it.
Guest guest
- Thanks for responding. I have not and am not at this point in time, receiving any treatment. My white cells have just decided to attack my red cells on their own. They see them as infection. I go to Fox Chase on July 20 for input on the situation. My local oncologist said immediate treatment isn't indicated. This is merely another " complication. " , at least at the present time. After checking out some info offered on other sites about the subject, I got a little rattled, but am on an even keel at this point. I can get through anything this nasty thing dishes out!!!!! After reading up on ITP, there is no question that, even with this new addition to my repertoire, I feel fortunate. I will hold your friend in prayer.
