Guest guest
Lori, Thanks for the description. I think I'm being put to sleep. That is cool that you got to see everything while the Dr was doing the scope. My Gastro Dr. was amazed at how well I'm doing, too. She said she gets lots of patients who are having trouble after gastric surgeries - by the way, I was her first MGB patient! Now, she'll get to see an MGB first hand. Guest guest
Gee, Lori, I only had to take off my top put on a gown. I was out the entire time. But that might be because I was tired when I got there. It takes about 5-10 minutes after they start. Easy as eating pie. Trish

Guest guest
i'd be interested in what he said about bile and its travelin' needs, and i am sure many other post-ops would, too! i don't go in to see my gi for a scope for a few weeks (insurance issues) but my sense in talking to him about bile is that he did not see it as " drano. " i planned on getting more detail from him even if i am clean, so i would appreciate any info you have. anna > Hi guys, > I hope everyone is doing well. Guest guest
Jen, Thanks for posting your results. Glad everything was fine. I had a biopsy for the H Pylori bacteria and it came back negative. The anxiety before the endo was way worse than the endo, I didn't feel a thing. Just took most of the day to recover from the sleepy drugs. I would like to hear more about what your Gastro Dr. had to say. My e- mail address is: beachwalkers @ home.com. Is yours RNJEN25 @ aol.com? Guest guest
Jen, thanks for this post. I would like to get the exact info your dr. gave you. My e-mail is peppler @ cox-internet.com without the spaces. Thanks. Pat my endoscopy Hi guys, I hope everyone is doing well. It is amazing that since I lost weight and feel good how active and busy I have become. I am not complaining. I have been trying to read up on some posts and just wanted to post that my endoscopy results were clean. I am waiting on the biopsy, but the doc said not to worry. I was leary about posting anything because I didn't want any of my words taken out of context or changed. My GI doc ( who has over 20 years experience) and actually was familiar with the MGB said I have nothing to worry about at this point. My esophagus and stomach looked good. He had a longer scope to go down the closed off portion of my stomach and intestines. He explained about normal bile and the way it needs to travel, putting my fears to rest. I dont want to bore people but if anyone wants some info, I will be happy to pass it along. Also, by the way I was so worried about it hurting and it was nothing. Stay well and have a great summer! Guest guest
OK....well, I am alive and kicking....whew....so glad it is over with! I was put totally under. My blood pressure was horrific...when they first took it, it was 180/105. The nurse just said, WOW, you ARE upset over this. The next thing I knew was the anestesiologist was at my bedside starting my IV since my veins had been thrashed at ER last week. I had bruises all over my arms...well, 2 very large ones. So he got is started in my hand with no problem. Then, he pulled out a syringe out of his pocket and gave me some versed. I calmed down quite a bit. They wheeled me into the exam room and I breathed something....guess it was O2. The last thing I heard was that he was telling my doctor ...that "she would not have gone under with what you would have been able to give her." So, it was a very positive thing that he was there. The only bad thing was that he had to intubate me so keep an eye on my breathing. That left me with a sore throat, but in my opinion, a good tradeoff from having to be in misery from the test. The doctor found a polyp and cut that out. She also took some biopsies of my small intestine to see if the celiac was calmed down...but other than that, things went OK. I imagine she will find the small intestine biopsy OK because of the prednisone...but since I have been on a gluten free diet, it should have been getting better anyway. Glad it is over.....way too scarey for me, but am glad I had it done....I didn't realize that polyps could be such bad things. I guess that is what can turn into cancer later on. She found the polyp up on the top loop of the intestine. So, it was a good thing in the end! debby
