Guest guest
, , , You have every right to freak out at times! That's what we are here for. I don't think there's a single one in this group that hasn't freaked out over something at one time or another. That's the wonderful thing about our group. No one will ever make you feel bad for feeling however you feel. take care.

Guest guest
Hi, It's a scary decision, isn't it? You're making the right decision about getting a second opinion if you are not 100% sure. Don't let the doc. talk you into or out of anything. In the course of my treatment, I have stopped taking my 6 mp once. My levels went up within 3 months. I will try again....when, I'm not too sure - but I will try.Good luck & keep me posted! Joan Hi All, I have been told by my new hepatologist, Dr. Jensen, head of Hepatology at Rush University Medical Center, Chicago, that he is going to attempt to take me off Imuran next year. He has treated 150 patients with AIH, and he feels that because I have been doing so well that it may be worth the chance. I told him that my previous doctor never wanted to attempt that, but he feels it is a safe bet, in my case. I told him I didn't mind taking the Imuran if it ensures a remission, but he said a relapse can occur even while taking Imuran and that the drug isn't without it's risks as well. Well, I was surprised to hear that. I thought it was a sure bet that the Imuran kept the disease at bay. Do you think I should take this chance??? I would try to get a second opinion on this at Mayo with Dr. Czaja before I did this.
