One thing that surprised me about the swans is that some of them at this lagoon tend to become moody and depressed, especially if they lose babies or eggs. An opera singer began practicing nearby, and it seemed to perk them up! They gather where they can hear her and beat their wings as she sings! This seems unlikely, but I'm sure the woman who told me wouldn't have made it up.
