Guest guest
> I got some more cast iron skillets for Christmas so now I have about 8 pans in various sizes and more. The new ones have not been seasoned. In the files it says to use lard, bacon grease or coconut oil, when seasoning pans. Is it also ok to use palm oil? ==>Yes, palm oil is okay too. > In addition, when I season them, do I coat the entire pan (inside, outside, and handle), or just the inside of the pan? ==>Just the inside. > > Last but not least, the files and also the instructions on my new pans say not to use a scouring pad, but another set I got said it's ok to use a scouring pad. Equally, some say it's ok to use a mild detergent while others say it is not. Thoughts? ==>Do not use any scouring pad or detergents. If food gets stuck, put water in the pan and boil it a little while until you can easily get it off. Bee
