Guest guest
I called my doctor on Monday and told his secretary I wanted to come in for a potassium test and a Vit. D test. She sets it up for today. I go to the lab and just for the heck of it I asked if this is for Potassium and Vit.D The lab tech look at the order and said " no, it just says sodium. " I told her what I was supposed to get and she took another vile of blood and said she would get the order from the doctor. If I hadn't questioned, I would have wasted a 30min trip into town and not got what I needed to get. What is the problem with the healthcare in this country. I am so frustrated and angry. We have to totally take our care into our OWN hands. Venizia
Guest guest
Ugh! I've found the same thing. I am very concerned about that because what happens if I can't think straight enough or can't talk because I'm not conscious. Who knows what these people will do? They don't read the charts and start administering drugs willy nilly, and I am allergic to some, like penicillin, codeine, morphine. Guest guest
You know what they are going to do.....require us all to have a chip put in us that has all our medical info on it....you watch....it IS coming Although maybe that wouldn't be so bad. At least it is someway of letting the incompetents know they have no excuse. Guest guest
I know what you're saying. I've heard that too. However, I see not reason for them to " chip " us. They could just add the information to a tiny external drive that we would bring back and forth to the doctor. They could be dictating as the office visit progressed. I'm sick and tired of doing recycling (to benefit huge companies that buy and sell the stuff), check labels from companies that are too profit oriented to put decent ingredients into our food, feel guilty about putting 5 gallons of gas in my car when manufacturing plants all over the country are spewing out thousands of pounds of CO2 every day, drinking water that has harmful chemicals because municipalities are too stingy to safeguard our water supply, breathe contaminated air because our legislators are too busy collecting contributions to pass clean air laws, etc., etc., etc. Whew. I'm not usually a free lance venter. This is all testimony to how lousy I feel, how much pain I have and how bad my mood is this morning. Sorry. Guest guest
I don't blame you. I make sure I know everything about a drug before I take it. But then I do not take many drugs because of all the side effects and additives. I probably am going to be in trouble someday and not have a choice to take or not to take. That is what I do now. It just seems doctors to not care about side effects, they sure don't tell you about them.
