I thought that since my counts were down I would feel a lot better than I do. It could be just my sinuses. We've had a lot of wind and that will do a number on them. Only had a cold for six weeks. Don't need to have blood work done until 21st of January. It's good to see your posts again. Ann CT [ ] ann! My were peanut ones also, didn't eat the whole bag only had a few. Not suppose to eat them at all, but we do tend to cheat once in a while. I'm really glad to see you posting again. I've missed seeing the sunshine. Today wasn't a very good day for me. Ending up laying down at my Dad's for a couple of hours, which is very unusual for me. I try to push myself to the limit and suffer afterwards. New Year's resolution - Take care of me - The heck with the rest. Feeling better now. I can't stand the roller coaster. Feel good one day and lousy the next. I'm seeing my liver doctor next week and will find out what's been going on. Take care. Dear Deborah,

I am totally aware that I will always have achalasia and that there are some

basic rules I have to stick to, which normal swallowers don't, but I really

cannot complain about how things have turned out for me.

For anyone who needs the information, my basic rules are to always have

something to drink available when eating. For me that would be a glass of

water/juice/cordial and a beaker (forget scabby diddy cups) of tea. I always

feel that the tea is more effective than the water. Next rule is not to bend

forward for too long or ever attempt to sleep flat. And then the obvious ones

like not eating too quickly or too late in the evening.

The rule that I am most likely to break is that of eating quite a lot of my meal

without taking a drink. And sometimes I get the penalty that I deserve, which is

to get something stuck, which then has to go uncomfortably down or now and

again, back up again. It's a bit like those people who have the occasional

alcohol binge: the next morning it's " never again " until the next time they

fancy a silly night out.

This is a long-winded way of saying that I am doing very well thank you and

considering what a daft shape my oesophagus is in, it is amazing how well I DO

eat and swallow.

The English weather is hovering around 0 degrees C and we are having light snow,

heavy snow, sunshine, rain (even an eathquake in East Yorkshire last night).

I hope that you continue to thrive,

Lots of love from Ann

Hi, Ann,

How's the English weather?  We are finally getting our

California Winter

(took long enough) and for us, 54 F day-time is pretty doggone cold.  Well,

it's

cold for me because I still live at the beach and the wet just comes in and out

all day.  It's great in the summer but in the winter it gets into my legs, just

as

it used to do in Philadelphia and New York.

How is your esophagus doing these days?  You always sound so

chipper, I wonder as if you've been hitting the Devon cream!  (Yum! and

always makes ME very happy, especially if very thickly spread on a

hot scone! with some lovely jam in the middle!)

Happiest of New Years to you, too!

Deborah
