Guest guest
, how old is your mum and how long has she been smoking? I don't know about the effects of prednisone on lungs in particular, but the exposure to the chemicals and the heavy smoking are reasons enough. Whatever tests/examinations the doctors are carrying out with your mum's lung, always get a second opinion first BEFORE they do it, always ask if it's necessary. My mum's lungs had both shrivelled up a lot from her heavy smoking and they both collapsed after she had a bypass surgery. She was put on a heart-lung machine and spent eight horrible months on this machine before she died. One of the " experts " treating her accidently mentioned to us that with her lungs in such a bad state, she should never have be operated on or even be subjected to all these tests and examinations beforehand. In the end he even admitted that she could have mananged without the bypass surgery. Doctors can be awfully quick with their decisions, never hesitate to ask more questions and get second opinions. Good luck and best wishes to your mum, Sophie > and I am wondering if anyone has ever heard of this? Her one lung is > half the size it should be. Guest guest
, I would recommend getting the MSDS sheets on all the cleaning products she has used over the years. This may give some insight into her current medical issues. Good Luck, Kat [ ] New here, mom has autoimmune hepatitis, now has shrinking lung > and I am wondering if anyone has ever heard of this?
