Guest guest
My doc says get as much protein as possible. If your going to do whey protein make sure its a whey protein isolate,Isolate being the key word. Your body absorbs it better. Peace out, Steveelizabethnv1 <elizabethnv1@...> wrote: It's my opinion that when on treatment that much protein is needed cause by week 14 taste perversion becomes a problem . Meat is usually the first thing that starts to taste really bad and once you take meat from the diet protein levels drop which I think can harm response rates . On treatment malnutrition is bad so unless a person has ammonia issues then protein is needed . Then again this is my personal opinion . Re: Protein? So, does anyone with Hep C need 1/2 gram of protein per pound, whether they have ever been on conventional treatment, or not? Sheena Janet <doc_jade > wrote: Oh no Jackie you got me wrong. I eat 2 oz. of red meat per meal that has meat in it. I am sorry I didn't make that clearer. I love my protein, I just get it from alot of different sources. I love beans!!!!!! I know they make you have gas. But I simply love beans and cornbread. (It is a southern thing). Hee Hee I get alot of protein from whey protein also. I drink protein shakes when I don't feel like eating. Sorry that I didn't make that clearer. I just try to limit the amount of red meat I eat, and go for the other types of meat such as chicken, turkey, fish and so forth. Now I can chow on some chicken. I love chicken in any form or fashion. Love you too and thank you for pointing out that. I was in a bipolar head when typing that. So that mean my fingers were doing one thing and my mind was zooming out in space some where. Guest guest
Today I had maybe half a roasted chicken.. Lots of fats. I ate the skin.. Is the skin bad to eat? especially if there is seasoning on there.. (lots of it being salt..) I have to confess its grocery store bought pre cooked chicken. You know those small ones Bee that you can get at Safeway/Sobeys. For the most part we eat wild salmon and a cow that we went halfers on with my sister and her husband. (hormone/steroid free/ fathers worker friend has a small farm) So I imagine it cannot be too bad once in a while to eat unorganic meats. We also buy a whole lamb from the farmer. So we are healthy.. What you think about eating all that chicken though? I think I am going to have a can of tuna as well. Is that too much store bought meat for one day? Just 2 meals.. Lots of veggies with them though.. and olive oil. Usually butter as well. Thanks Marko

Is the skin bad to eat? especially if there is seasoning on > there.. (lots of it being salt..) I'm not Bee, but I personally stay away from those store-bought chickens. The fact of the matter is, I can make something that tastes 10 times better, is a WHOLE lot healthier, is cheaper, and I know what's in it. We made roasted chicken here the other night, as a matter of fact. I made a rub of sea salt, black pepper, thyme, crushed garlic, onion, and some Italian-type herbs (like oregano and basil, etc.) I rubbed them on my chickens and let them rest for about an hour and a half. We cooked ours on the grill at about 210 'til the internal temp of the chickens was 165, but I've also been known to do them in the oven. You just put them on a baking rack, breast side down, and you roast them at 500 for 15 minutes and then turn it down to 300 for about 45 minutes (or to an internal temp of 165ish.) You don't cut them immediately, so there's some hold-over cooking, but by cooking them this way, you get crispy skin and tender, juicy meat. I LOVE chicken skin, and I don't reallyt hink there's a problem with eating it if you know what you're eating. In other words, if you know EXACTLY what the seasoning is and where the chicken came from, then I personally don't see a problem with it. Fitday even has chicken skin as a food. Just remember that if you eat more protein than your body needs, 50% of the excess will be converted to glucose, and that glucose will feed candida. Focus on those great fats though. You'll feel so much better for it. in IN
Guest guest
I am glad to hear this. Since starting to use fit day we added an extra meal each day (we were eating twice- now three times). Before I was getting too little protein but now I trend to going over by 5-10g. I was in a real quandry as to whether I should get too little or too much! Very confusing sometimes... http://kelleygate.blogspot.com 8 weeks 6 days > > Just remember that if you eat more protein than your body needs, 50% > of the excess will be converted to glucose, and that glucose will feed > candida. > ==>That isn't correct my dear.
