Jerry- Wouldn't I have other 'things' in my LFT's other than AST and ALT out of wack with advanced disease? I thought the albumin and total bilirubin would be abnormal in that case. Haven't Carole, I am on the liver transplant list and since be diagnosed with AIH several years ago my numbers have never been way out of whack like you read on this site! Bleeding from the throat? Someone should have called 911 - varicies that rupture are life threatening if not treated immediately - luckily yours wasn't this bad. Go to the ER if you have to!!! Someone has got to realized that you need attention now- I'm right with Jerry on this one - (he'll reimburse me:) ) Amy

Guest guest
Thanks Amy! I may have to come your way for a new doc. The only clinics with heps. I have found are the two I have been to. I thought I had found a winner with this new guy. So know any good ones? I have a neice and nephew in bremerton I can stay with. I just hate having to travel like that when I have some right in my own back yard. Makes me so angry. The bleeding was up my nose. Way up in there - that piching thing did nothing for it. As a matter of fact we were at my nephews in Bremerton when it happened. Thought I was going to have to find an ER so they could stop it. It was bleeding so heavy. And of course at a great time. We had all just sat down to dinner, and I feel something warm run quickly down my lip. Was over an hour before it stopped. I had to lean forward so it would not run straight down my throat, so I think that is why it took a little longer. I finally just packed the nose tight with tissue, and it put enough pressure on it to stop eventually. Thanks again. Guest guest
Well, I saw Dr. Goldman today. She kept giggling while talking to me. Finally she said she just couldn't help giggling as they just had a patient in there named " Fifi Dogtoe " . We both started giggling! Re: [ ] Digest Number 2740 You need a landscaper and a hammer. Guest guest
No not always. My AST and ALT were high but my bilirubin was just slightly above normal and my albumin was OK too. When the AST and ALT are high it means there is some inflammation going on but the liver is still functioning and not failing. When albumin is high in the blood stream it means the liver is not processing proteins well. Re: any one know?
