Guest guest Posted December 15, 2001 Report Share Posted December 15, 2001 Haven't posted in awhile, but been reading behind the scenes. Just returned from my gastro and rheumatolgist appointments. Doing well with the AIH, liver enzymes are normal, down to 7.5 mg of prednisone. But, need to stay on pred for awhile for " maintenance " to avoid a flare-up. However, my Rheumatologist said that my RA is still progressing despite me being on the prednisone. I tried taking Imuran 2 times but got ill each time. He now wants me to start taking Enbrel - which I agreed to in his office after hearing about it from him. But, of course, I had to do my own research and now I'm not so sure....one of the sides effect " may cause death " , kind of bothers me! I know that those side effects are put in there to cover the all the bases, but are usually not the case, but I also remember hearing about it in the news. Anyhow, are there any AIH sufferers who also have RA and are taking Enbrel? If so, any side effects? Do you feel much better? Has it stopped the progression of the rheumatoid arthritis? Would really appreciate any personal experiences...as I'm already starting to feel like I will " chicken out " ...then my RA doctor will not be too happy with me... Happy Holidays to everyone!
