Guest guest
I have this recurring problem with what I would call indigestion. Gurgling like crazy in my stomach, esophagus and throat. My stomach feels like it is blown up like a balloon, and air bubbles are popping in it. I also have excessive " urping " , not exactly full blown burping, like little burps...but LOTS of them. Tonight it is the pits. Sometimes it is so bad that I feel like I can't get a deep breath. I really am starting to think something is wrong here. It has gone on since before the meds, but has gotten much worse over the last 6 months or so. [i have no cirrhosis and normal labs for around 7-8 months.] Anybody else have this problem or have any insight into what the heck is going on? Thanks,
Guest guest
, I get a spell like that every once in awhile, too. Most uncomfortable. My stomach almost always feels like it's swollen just below my chest. I get shortness of breath, too, but my red blood cells are really low and I'm anemic, so I think the shortness of breath is from that. I had it too before the meds, so I think it's just part of AIH. At least that's what I keep telling myself.... nne [ ] outrageous indigestion > I have this recurring problem with what I would call indigestion. > Gurgling like crazy in my stomach, esophagus and throat. Guest guest
I get something like that which I attribute to retaining fluid. Guest guest
, Thanks for that info. I take my vitamin at the same time also. If I had stopped and thought about it I probably would have figured this out for myself because when I was pregnant I had to take my prenatal vitamins at night because of the stomach upset. I guess it was just the blonde coming through. (helped out by a bottle I must say) Again thanks.
Guest guest
, My mom, newly diagnosed with AIH, also had this issue and couldn't eat, felt very bloated, and weak with major shortness of breath. Turns out she was very anemic due to an esophageal ulcer. She is still in hospital, just had the procedure yesterday, but the weakness came from lack of oxygen getting to tissues due to anemia. Shortness of breath was a combo of the bloating (she couldn't take deep breath's), and the anemia. She still has a colonoscopy to do, but seems better now with 3 transfusions. I definately would check with your doc, it took 2 weeks to finally get mom in for tests...she HATES hospital's. But it was starting to affect how her heart function and rythum so I basically picked her up and said we're going in. Hope this help's. Guest guest
Thanks for telling me about your mom! I hope she is doing better. What you describe is exactly what I am feeling...like my stomach is so bloated that it is physically in the way of my lungs and it is hard to take a deep breath. I have told my doctors about this. They keep telling me that my blood tests look great. Gee thanks, that's terrific....but my stomach doesn't feel so great. I was put on Aciphex (a proton pump inhibitor for GERD) a couple months ago, and I think the problem is a little better, but not totally gone. Thanks to everyone for comments and suggestions. I think I am a bit frustrated, but mostly I am doing well, so I try to focus on that. It is hard to sort out what to worry about and what not to, isn't it? > , > My mom, newly diagnosed with AIH, also had this issue and couldn't eat, felt > very bloated, and weak with major shortness of breath. > Turns out she was very anemic due to an esophageal ulcer. Guest guest
, I think we could be twins.....at least for this stuff! I too am bloated, especially after eating. Most frustrating that the Prednisone makes me eat, and I do, knowing full well that I'm going to feel like s---afterwards. I have a bad esophagus too, and maybe it's from that, I don't know. I also am taking a proton pump inhibitor...Protonix, and I guess it helps some, but not that much. I'm going to mention it to my gastro next visit. He's the same, as long as the numbers don't look too bad, I must be ok. Why can't they listen to us? I think it's because they don't have any answers..... nne [ ] outrageous indigestion > > > > > > > > > > I have this recurring problem with what I would call > indigestion. > > > > Gurgling like crazy in my stomach, esophagus and throat.
