Re: headaches - Calf pain

I had bad calf pain when my magnesium was not balanced with my

calcium, and when I wasn't taking the proper dose for my body. Here

is a quote from Bee on Calcium/Magnesium.

" Calcium/Magnesium Citrate, with " elemental amounts " (meaning the

amount that is absorbed) indicated on the label, with an equal ratio

of calcium to magnesium. Most supplements contain about 350 mgs of

calcium per tablet. Take one or more a day depending upon how much is

contained in the diet from other sources. Many calcium/magnesium

supplements contain a ratio of 2:1 (calcium to magnesium), in which

case a separate supplement of magnesium citrate is necessary to equal

out the proportions.

Usually 1,000 to 1,200 mgs of calcium are recommended daily, with half

that amount of magnesium, but that not correct. In fact taking such a

high amount of calcium will cause imbalances in the body and be very

damaging in the long run. Most of us are more deficient in magnesium

than in calcium, so it is important to take at least an equal amount

until you see how your body reacts.

Most candida sufferers will do very well on 600 mgs each of calcium

and magnesium per day in divided doses. Muscle cramps indicate you

need more magnesium, and possibly less calcium, and deep muscle pains

indicate you've taken too much calcium. If you have more cramps and

muscle pains on your left side it indicates that your calcium intake

is either too high or too low, and if you have more cramps and muscle

pains on your right side it indicates that your magnesium intake is

either too high or too low. It is very difficult to balance calcium

and magnesium, but each individual must find their own optimal levels

by experimentation. Your body can only handle a maximum of 500 mgs of

calcium at a time, so if you are taking more, it must be split into

smaller doses. "

I have had pain in those 3 areas before when I don't tolerate

something. For example this happened while I was using Stevia

beginning of the year. It finally occurred to me to cut it out and the

pain in those 3 areas stopped. And the same thing happened with gum,

which of course I know is not good for me.

away. I had nothing but meat and veggie broth all day. By mid

afternoon the headache was worse and the back and calf pain was back.

In the evening I had a can of sardines in olive oil with some HCl and

I took magnesium citrate before going to bed. I also had some ascorbic

acid and mixed a little baking soda into it because I don't like the

taste of it. This morning the headache is worse than it's been in a

long time and the backache and calf pain are worse also. In addition,

I have been waking up with swollen eye lids again the last two days.

every day. It hurts so bad today I am tempted to take some aspirin

because I don't know how to make it through the day. I am volunteering

at a nursing home today, have a business meeting for our church, and

have to work on a website and myhead feels like it's going to explode.

I tried white willow bark yesterday but it didn't help.

You may want to adjust them just to more closely resemble what Bee

recommends and see if it helps. Sadly what worked in the past may not

work now. I have found as my body heals, it reacts differently as it

gets stronger. And as my digestion gets better I absorb nutirents

better, so that too has made me have to adjust things continuously.

But like I said, I really think its die off, and I think holding off

on supplements and just concentrating on getting through the nine day

plan would be immensely helpful " )

I have been doing this for a while and it has worked for me. In the

past when I have had this type of pain, in these three areas, it has

always been because of something I was eating or taking like the

stevia or the gum. I can cut back on the magnesium to have it more

balanced with the calcium, but I just don't think that's it.

Sunday afternoon the pain went away only to come back Monday morning.

If it were an imbalance between calcium and magnesium, wouldn't the

pain be consistent rather than come and go although I am taking the

same amount throughout?

No worries, you are not negative, if anything it sounds like you are

going through what a lot of us do, furstration! " )

Besides, for every post you make, there are probably ten people (at

least) who are wondering the same things. You help yourself as well

as others when you ask. " )

actually looking forward to it. I also get my Mountain Rose Herb order

today which includes palm oil. I was up to 4 tbls of coconut oil a day

but given this headache I thought it might be best to reduce it again

and I am out of palm oil. I also need to get some organic evoo.

I am also PMSing right now which tends to give me anxiety and just a

negative outlook on things.
