You need to treat your adrenals, and then you will find that treating both the thyroid and the adrenals you will once again be able to tolerate alcohol better. I got intoxicated (before treatment) on just two tablespoons of white wine. Val Hypothyroidism and Drinking Habits Hello friends My Hypothyroid was dignosed one year back when my TSH level was at 120. I am taking Thyroxine 112.5 mg. My quetion is how Drinking habits (Whisky /Vodka / Beer ) can complicate the situation. Does one completly stop drinking ? Does one > completly stop drinking ? Until your dosage is properly titrated, any alcohol can aggravate the metabolism suppression effects of hypoT. When the dosage is effective, though, moderate and occasional consumption should not cause a problem. However, if you consume enough to start effecting the liver (varies with age), this will scramble several of the blood tests and cause more T3 to be bound and unavailable.
