Chuck, I have recently developed carpal tunnel in BOTH hands, have joint and

muscle problems, cannot regulate my body temp (if I get cold I shudder so

hard I bite into my lips and must put on several layers of clothing, plus a

terry robe, plus get under blankets to warm up. If I get overheated, I

become sooooo hot that I must sit down or fall down and it can last for over

an hour. I have recently learned that dousing myself in cool water can fix

this much more quickly).

I am still gaining weight

My lipids have shot up since my January blood draw.

To be fair - I don't have a very good diet. I eat nuts and meat and corn

chips and such. I eat lots of salad, dressing on side, I take Fish oil

supplements, and a tablespoon of olive oil every day, so some of the weight

and lipid is for sure my fault - though a 60 lb weight gain since being

diagnosed in 2002 and still gaining suggests that it maybe isn't all my

fault.

If carpal tunnel ( I don't work - since 1995- so I have no repetitive

motions); temp issues; diagnosed heart rythym problems; weight gain and

continued thinning of hair is all normal for a 59 yr old woman, then I'm not

symptomatic. I read so much about thyroid and what it CAN do, but I

haven't got a clue as to whether or not is HAS done these things to me or

whether one can expect to have these problems anyway!!!! I'm not even sure

that the literature and discussions here about needing the Frees in the

upper quadrant is accurate. Obviously though, my numbers are MUCH lower

than that - as seen below.

Any thoughts?

Dusty

P.S. My sympathies on your loss. My Dad is gone 7 yrs next month and my Mom

18 this year. I still miss them.

Re: Chuck or anyone who cares to comment

Dusty,

Is that working for you? I don't see any reason to change unless you are

symptomatic.
