Guest guest
Tracey, I have AIH, PBC, coronary artery disease, diabetes and microscopic colitis. Ursodiol is the main medication I take to fight the liver diseases. I take 250 mg., 3 times each day and if I have experienced any side effects they have been so slight that I have not noticed. I am fortunate in that I have a wonderful GI who believes in several kinds of treatments before putting a patient on predisone. The Ursidiol helps remove the cholestrol from what we eat before it goes through the liver. I believe that most of us who suffer from these autoimmune diseases have a problem with high cholestrol and this medication helps my liver and is also good for me because of my heart disease. Hope if you are taking this medication you have as good of luck as I have had with it. Carolyn Delplane

Guest guest
Tracey, I take 250mg of Urso twice daily along with Prednisone and Imuran. My first dx was PBC by doctors in Memphis, TN after a consult with my GI regarding my liver biopsy. The GI doc immediately put me on Urso. Then he sent me to a liver specialist at Ochner's Clinic in New Orleans and I was put on Prednisone and Imuran for AIH. My GI thinks I have a crossover of AIH and PBC, and since my LFT's came down during the months that I was on just Urso (though not to normal) he decided to leave me on it. I did not have any side effects from the Urso, but I wish I could say the same about the Prednisone and Imuran! That treatment has been a rollercoaster!!!!!!!!!!! I am down to 5 mg of Prednisone now, so I am not bouncing off the walls quite as much. Could someone answer this question for me? What does referred pain from the capsule surrounding the liver to the right shoulder feel like? I have had pain in my right shoulder and my neck on that side for the last 2 weeks, but it feels like muscle spasms and a "crick" in my neck. I hate to go to my doctor with this because it probably has nothing to do with my liver, but what do I know??? Thanks for being there, Layne -----Original Message-----From: traceyf1980 <TrixTrix1980@...> [mailto:TrixTrix1980@...]Sent: Saturday, January 11, 2003 1:20 PM Subject: [ ] Just a short questionI was wondering if anyone who posts here may have used the drug urisodal? Guest guest
Layne, I would get that type of shoulder pain as you describe when I was having gallbladder attacks, after the gallbladder was removed I didn't get that pain in my right shoulder anymore.
