hi Terri

a goiter means you need iodine. Docs do not use iodine for goiter so you

will have to do your own research. there is an iodine group on also.

if you want to get well you will have to become educated and proactive. Don't

expect that a doc will do it for you.

I am from NY. I went to the ER because I needed fluids, felt weak

from a terrible stomach virus, and they found they couldn't get my

pulse down, I have panic disorder, so they checked for thyroid

function and they said the numbers were extremely high, whatever the

heck that means. They made me stay in the hospital, put me on

inderal, kept me on my panic meds and did ultra sound etc. I have a

goiter. I am really healthy otherwise, but have been not feeling

great all winter. I have to call on Monday to get an appt with an

endocronologist that my primary recommended and found this group

tonight. I was sure there must be a group, signed up and

thought I would introduce myself.
