Guest guest Posted March 7, 2009 Report Share Posted March 7, 2009 Hello friends, New on the group here. I was detected with HT in NOV'08, and have been suffering from Anxiety since June last year. In Nov my TSH was 75. The doc put me on synthroid, but the pharmacist gave me a generic synthroid (not the original) one made Abbott Labs. I took it till the end of Dec, my TSH came down to 0.35 . That is so unbelievable ...75 to 0.53 in 45 days. SO I am guessing there must have been some mistake in measuring, but I assumed it was OK. In the mean time I was still having anxiety symptoms. The doc reduced my medicine to 50 mcg, and I kept the same non-original brand. On Feb 12 I did a test at another lab and my TSH was 80 mcg (WTF ???). SO my new doc put me back on 75 mcg and this time I decided to have the original Abott lab Synthroid. Now it has been 16-17 days since I have been taking it plus some Homeopathy. Yesterday I was going through the website stopthethyroidmadness.com, and on that learnt that low thyroid can also cause paranoid schizophrenia, I became so anxious and could not sleep the whole night, and have been thinking am I schizoprenic ? Oh boy, I am having such a bad time !!! . So just wanted to know if anyone has suffered anxiety while being hypothyroid OR is it also a side effect of Synthroid.
