Guest guest
Dear Debbie, So glad you’re doing well! Did your doctor mean that 2 mg of prednisone doesn’t do anything? Why did he taper you to 1.5 mg? I just tapered to 2.5 mg one day and 5 mg the next. Then I take 50 mg of Imuran. Guest guest
, My doctors concur that 5mg and less has very little side effects, it's as if you're not on it. For some people, 10mg or less has negligible side effects as well. aisha RE: [ ] Re: Report from the 2nd doc Dear Debbie, So glad you’re doing well! Guest guest
Boy that is good news! I don’t want a moon face. I get funny aches in my fingers and arms now. Hmm, wonder what that is? Just getting old (44) I guess! Goodnight, Re: [ ] Re: Report from the 2nd doc , My doctors concur that 5mg and less has very little side effects, it's as if you're not on it. Guest guest
Hi , My doc just said to stop taking the prednisone. I'm doing it slowly because I have had such awful reactions to lowering my dose. It took me a year and a half to get down to 5mg. Debbie/FL > > Well, saw my doc in Miami yesterday. He's very pleased with my > blood > > work and wants me off the prednisone completely. Guest guest
, Every time I lowered my dosage no matter how small I would get tired, achy, temperature, upset stomach, diarhea. I felt like I had a mild case of the flu. It usually lasted about 2wks. sometimes 3. I always gave myself a week of feeling better before I dropped it again. I tried the other way and just couldn't take it. I'm also diabetic so it through my blood sugars way off too. Actually, that was probably the worse part of it. I started on 60mg in Nov. 2000. Guest guest
Oh, it must have sent your blood sugar spinning! Maybe that’s why you felt so bad? I was dropped rapidly from 30 mg prednisone and every two weeks down 10 mg to end at 5 mg per day. Then I was told I would be on 5 mg “for a while”, but am now alternating between 2.5 one day and 5 mg the next. I have not noticed anything different. Very weird! My doctor really believes she beat this. We will see if she has.
