Guest guest
The grocery stores around here are selling lemons at 99 cents each. The produce store where I usually get all my veggies is selling them for 50 cents each. (They are usually 3 for a dollar, but the price has recently spiked). The produce stand was closing for thier annual 2-week vacation last week, and I panicked. How was I going to afford 5 or 6 lemons per day for 2 weeks, as well as decent veggies??? I filled up a bag with 60 lemons which I was going to pay $30 for, and then I had the idea to ask the owner how much he would charge me for a whole box... He sold a box to me for $41, and there are 165 lemons per box. I ended up getting them for 25 cents each. They are Sunkist (not organic), but I can't afford organic produce at this point. Since both me and my wife are on the diet, it shouldn't be a problem eating the whole box within a couple of weeks, and they save well in the fridge. When the price goes back down, I should be able to get my lemons for 15-20 cents each. I write all this to say, if you and your family are on this diet, ASK THE STORE TO SELL YOU A WHOLE BOX TO SAVE MONEY! Doug
