I never heard of this product. I am getting really

Standard Process Thytrophin PMG

I found the following on another site and asked permission to re-post.

Does anyone know about this product?

P

at

I have had an underactive thyroid brought to normal using the Standard

Process Thytrophin PMG product, and confirmed by medical tests. My MD

was very surprised - he had wanted to put me on synthroid.

Why would one want to cause the thyroid to turn off, which I

personally

believe may happen with synthroid (once you're on it, it's

forever) when

one can give the thyroid a broad range support product such as

Thytrophin PMG? It certainly worked for me, and sure surprised the MD.

This is a scam. If your thyroid " responds, " you did not really need

medication in the first place. If you want to try it, you not only risk

the money you spend on an unproven treatment, you risk the damage you

will cause by not replacing the needed thyroid hormones while you play

with thyroid " support. "

I think this person is a little confused.

I take Standard Process thytropin PMG, and also Armour 240mg, and also Iodoral

50mg! Thytropin isn't a substitue for meds. Iodine can sometimes be.

Standard Process is an old well respected company. Almost all holistic docs

and naturopaths use these products. My holistic vet has them too!

I personally use Drenamin, thytrophin, and pituitrophin from Standard Process,

and it's expensive. I tried not using them, but I missed them, so I keep

taking them.

I assume it is well respected because it uses standardized dosing. hence the

name standard process?

All of their products are classified as " food supplements. " That means

they are unregulated, except for the labeling requirements on all food

products.

Chuck-

Yeah, that is why I was upset by the post.? As if I or anyone else would?CHOOSE

to " shut?our thyroids off " . We just have actual thyroid problems?that need more

than " hamburger " as said :-)?The post?had a passive aggressive, " I'm

beating the system and you are all dumb for choosing to shut your thyroid glands

down " kind of tone.? I don't mean this towards?the person who re-posted it here,

but to who originally posted the comment.? They need a dose of reality.? If I

were to take only that stuff it would literally kill me. (And the millions of

other people with hypoT).

Some of us like myself have no thyroid.  It was removed while in the Army due

to cancer.  So I take my medicine and shop for the best doctor I can find. I do

however try to eat healthy and walk for exercise. I do the best I can. Best

wishes for every one else.-lenosan

Gracia-

I have used the drenamin myself and have no objections to that let alone the

whole standard process company.  However, I also tried to thytrophin PMG and it

made me feel like total crap.

Also, to the person who brought this topic up, no one is upset at you! We are

just responding to the original post, sorry if you feel ganged up on!
